BS Mobile Fire unboxing, first impressions, specs, price
android bs mobile first impressions FWVGA mediatek phablets rntd first unboxing
First time that I'll gonna have some unboxing of an BS Mobile device at my hub. It is currently one of their few quad-core devices. Meet BS Mobile Fire.
These are the front and back views of the device. I really censored a part of the specs sheet as I got the real specs on this blog post. The box is quite presentable and nice.
The front has 2 MP secondary camera, 5 inch FWVGA display and standard Android capacitive buttons. Good thing that the screen protector is already installed. The back has 8 MP rear cam with flash, BS Mobile marking and single speaker. The rest of the specs include Android 4.2.2 Jellybean, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB ROM, 3G capable, 1.3 GHz Mediatek MT6582 quad-core processor, dual SIM (1 regular, 1 micro), micro SD slot, Bluetooth, WiFi and 1,800 mAh removable Li-ioN battery. I noticed that both side have this "honeycomb" design and the form factor reminds me of some Samsung Android devices minus the trademark home button.
3.5 mm. audio jack at the top, micro USB slot and pin hole mic at the bottom.
Volume rocker at the left, power/unlock button at the right
A glimpse if you'll remove the back cover of BS Mobile Fire.
The essentials include warranty paper, instruction guide, 1 ampere USB charger, flip cover, USB cable and earphones
I tried the flip cover on the phone and it fits perfectly.
For my first impressions, I found that the device has a surprising solid feel plus the durability of the back cover and flip cover are quite on the positive side. Switching apps are a-ok but not as fast as other counterparts with the same SoC and 1 GB RAM. Let's see if the BS Mobile Fire will fare will in my upcoming review soon. It currently has an SRP of Php 3,599 at BS Mobile stores and their number of online stores including one on Lazada Philippines.

Over a year ago, I had the review of MyPhone Rio Fun which was the first one to have a phablet-size device under the Php 3,000 price bracket. It's nice that I was invited recently at MyPhone office to brought in the follow-up to this smartphone.
Lenovo Vibe Shot unboxing, first impressions, specs, price
android corning first impressions full hd gorilla glass 3 lenovo lte news octa-core qualcomm tech unboxing
After it's launch earlier, I was fortunate to bring something in my hub as I can show you the unboxing and first impressions of the Lenovo Vibe Shot.
I love the overall design of the box of the said device. The word "vibe" gave some emphasis on what we can expect inside of it.
The front has 8 MP AF front camera, 5 inch IPS Full HD LCD display standard Android buttons. The back has 16 MP AF rear camera with OIS, IR sensor, 6P lens with blue filter and sapphire cover, and Lenovo Vibe Shot logo. All of the sides mentioned on this part are covered with Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor and LTE that can work on both Globe and Smart (as I already tested)
The top has noise cancelling mic and 3.5 mm. audio jack. The bottom has dual speakers and micro USB port. The pin hole mic mght be hiding on one of the dual speakers. The one that I had is the graphite gray variant.
At the left (top of the picture) comes with dual micro SIM tray and micro SD slot. The right (below part) has volume rocker, power/unlock button, switch on Auto/Pro mode (as this is a camera-centric phone, you can switch from auto to pro mode and vice versa in one go) and physical shutter button
The package includes SIM and micro SD ejector pin, micro USB to USB cord, USB plus with 5V 1.5 amperes of output, screen protector, earphones, manual and clear protective back casing.
First impressions: The device is a only a bit heavy compared to other 5 inch that I had on other global brands but I have to consider that for it's 5 inch device that it packed a huge 3,000 mAh battery. Of course, you have to consider the premium build of the device. I am happy that Lenovo decided for dual micro over dual nano SIM plus the micro SD expansion. Out of 32 GB, I can say that it has unified storage with over 26 GB. I have to confirm if the 2nd SIM slot can also do LTE.
Lenovo Vibe Shot will be also available in Carmine Red. The Pearl White version will be available in Q4 2015. It will be available in mid-August in Lenovo Mobile stores and authorized resellers for Php 17,999 but you can't wait, you can order starting this July 31, 2015 12 noon at Lazada Philippines for only Php 16,999 thru this link
