Alcatel Flash 2 Unboxing and First Impressions Part 2

When I had this device at it's launch, I had a bitin feeling when I found out that it was a prototype device so I took a chance for a round 2 of first impression of Alcatel Flash 2 via Lazada Philippines's latest unboxing sessions together with select tech and lifestyle bloggers.

The second part for me is still an exciting one as I had a chance to unbox it while I am still waiting for my review unit. The package itself is quite elegant for it's low price point plus the extras like the screen protector and flip cover.

I'll gonna skip at the phone's physical appearance as I already had it on the first part thru this link . Now that I had the official commercial unit, you'll gonna see when I removed the back cover. Like it was said in the presentation during it's launch, my info was right that the USB charger has only 1 ampere output which gave me a concern on it's charging time for it's 3,000 mAh non-removable battery.

I also checked out the flip cover itself which is made from faux leather but it is presentable plus the Alcatel One Touch logo there. Good thing that it is not the one with adhesive to put on your phone. You only need to replace the back cover and swap it with this thing. As I already knew that the device doesnt have a magnetic sensor, those usual flip cover functions (thru the small window) are not working on this one.

The interface that I saw in the commercial unit in terms of mobile net connection is simplier like the one that you will gonna face in stock Android Lollipop with LTE: 2G, 3G and 4G only which I really like. I tested a Globe LTE sim into this device in Lazada PH office in Makati CBD (which both telcos really have fantastic LTE speeds in most points) and the speed is not the fastest or the slowest that I found so far. I really want to test it soon in my area.

I also took the chance to check out the audio and video department. For a normal usage, I'm already contented for a smartphone with HD resolution and so on this one. The audio output via my 3rd party earbuds really gave me a smile as it is a lot better than the number of MT6592-powered devices that I had or reviewed. For my standards, it can even match those with my Snapdragon-powered phone (based on my observation, Qualcomm devices sound better than on MTK).

The thing that I forgot from the launch was the physical shutter button and I'm glad that the physical button is really fast and in tune by the time that the picture is already processed. Of course, the fast shutter speed is also giving me an easy job on this one.

Because of these new discoveries, I'm really more excited to a full review of the Alcatel Flash 2 soon on this blog. It is currently on sale exclusive on Lazada Philippines in different dates for Php 6,190. I''ll be more pleased if you'll gonna buy this device thru this link here
