Acer Liquid X1 Philippines first impressions, benchmarks, camera samples

To cap off my trip at the Acer booth, my hands got some time on the country’s first Mediatek octa-core powered phone with LTE, the Acer Liquid X1

Acer Liquid Jade Philippines specs, first impressions, benchmarks

This was my 2nd Acer smartphone that I tested during the Blogapalooza 2014, here is the Acer Liquid Jade.

Acer Liquid E700 Philippines first impressions, camera samples, clarification

Finally at the recent Blogapalooza 2014, Acer Philippines was my one of main targets at that time and good thing after you saw it first in the country, I was able to do a little hands-on with the unique Acer Liquid E700.

One thing that caught my attention is the little bulkniness of the device but not as thick as those old school Android phones with 4000+ mah battery, mainly that it has 3,500 maH battery. The device is so easy to grip.

The one who helped me with my first impressions was Mr. L.A. Rosero, Acer Philippines Product Specialist which you will also see him later. Another feature that I love is the Acer Rapid which is a hard button at the back which has a lot of functions: soft press for your desired app, long press for your another fave app, can answer calls thru that button and when you have a selfie, it acts as the shutter button. Additonal is the front flash beside the front camera

I noticed that it’s stock music player is Google Play Music which is kinda not that friendly when you’re quite meticulous in adjusting the equalizer. The default music volume for me is at 75% which is good enough and it is CTIA-complaiant

You noticed that there’s a clarification in my title. Unlike on what Sir LA said on Techpinas’ Youtube video (jump at 3:48 part of the video) about the said device, he said to me that it is TRIPLE SIM, TRIPLE STANDBY . That answer was opened coz I asked him on what if someone will gonna text me at my SIM 3 number or for example, an e-load retailer that offers loads for  3 different networks which the notification is quite important.

And here are my camera samples of the Acer Liquid E700 which is quite fast for me. These pics were taken w/o flash

Blackview DM 550 first impressions, specs, price, benchmarks, camera samples

Good thing during the launch of Blackview smartphones in the Philippines, I was able to do a lil observation of probably my fave among the 8 devices they have so far, the Blackview DM550.

Three reasons why I love it based on specs, the 5.5 inch IPS HD display ( I prefer HD for now for an Mediatek octa-core rather than FHD), dual AF cameras and 2,600 maH battery

This is the front and back portions of the box. As said in one of my related blog posts, all Blackview smartphones have 13 months warranty and it’s key specs. By the way, the package also has a free screen protector, smart flip cover and USB OTG cable plus the usual ones like the micro USB to USB cable, travel charger, earphones, manual and warranty papers

Here are the front and back portions of the phone. The front camera is located at the upper left portion and quite narrow bezels. The back cover doesn’t occupy it’s whole version when you open it as the lining is visible. The back cover is made of plastic but it’s texture reminds me a bit of a typical sofa. The camera doesn’t have the “plump” factor so no problem if you gonna put it on a table. I discovered that it has dual 3G sim slots.

The top and bottom portions. The top has the USB OTG capable micro USB slot and CTIA-certified 3.5 mm. audio jack. The bottom part has dual speakers. The pin hole mic is sneaking on the right speaker as if you can see an actual unit, it  is a bit bigger compared to it’s surrounding holes.

The left part has the volume rocker while on the right is the power/unlock button.

This has Android 4.4.2 Kitkat out of the box. The pic beside of it bares more of it’s USB OTG function and the 10.5 GB of phone storage which I wonder if it does have unified storage.
And to this picture answered my question, it doesn’t have unified storage as you can check the app storage has about 3 GB of space. The actual RAM is kinda fair compared to their published one at 1 GB RAM.

These are the sneak peek of the camera interface. The 13 MP AF rear camera supports only 4:3 ratio as if you will choose the full screen option, it will go down to over 9 MP. Same goes with the 5 MP at the said aspect ratio as it will go down to 4 MP if full screen is enabled.

I had time to do some of the benchmark tests like for Antutu and CPU-Z

And here are the 13 MP rear and 5 MP front camera samples of the Blackview DM 550 shot at not so bright venue for a purpose. The rear camera has f/2.2 aperture and it is quite quick shutter speed. The front camera has f/2.8 aperture.

I also have a 1080p video sample which I will update on this blog post asap. As a hint, I checked that it has 16.67 FPS which it’s a bit higher than others at 15 fps.

Special thanks to Anjie of Teknogadyet for allowing me to play on the Blackview DM 550
