It took us some years of requests before they finally reached us to check out one of Huawei's 2023 line-up of laptops - here's the 2023 version of Huawei Matebook D 14

On display, we love the clarity of it either it comes on video consumption down to productivity but you will only stuck to 60 Hz. With the specs that we mentioned on the video, it is not fit on gaming or on heavy video editing. The heaviest that we can brought in for the task is using it as a recorder for OBS which works fine.
We love the sort-of chicklet type of keyboard that Huawei laid in for this laptop. Like on their smartphones, the WiFi reception on this device was a bit better compared to my current main driver laptop which is also on the same price range base on a number of speedtests that I did. The trackpad was on point and never got any ghost responses.
Unfortunately, the review unit that they allowed us to borrow cannot run most of the essential PC benchmarks but for sure you may have an indea on Intel i5 1240p based on available data. On battery, happy to know that it's USB-C 65 watt charger can go from 0 to 100 in over an hour. On battery life, it had an average of 5 hours of 10 minutes when we ran Youtube videos in Full HD, 33% brightness and 50% volume on WiFi and around 7 hours in average on mixed productivity when we did some articles using the laptop.
What we like is the minimal design, display, connectivity, size of RAM, battery and the option to expand it up to 4 TB in storage. What can be improved is the lack of ports especially on SD and could be a bit more affordable versus other laptops which you can buy for less than Php 40000 with the same processor.
Huawei Matebook D 14 2023 for us is 3.75 out of 5.
