MPL Philippines Season 12 Week 1 was packed with action and drama as the Gold Lane rivals Kiel "OHEB" Soriano and Grant "Kelra" Pillas once again faced each other in a thrilling match. Kelra, who admittedly didn't prepare for the face off, learned his lesson the hard way as Oheb got the last laugh.
"Mas masarap mabuhay nang tahimik lang and mas nage-enjoy ako nang hindi nagta-trashtalk. Naniniwala ako sa karma," Oheb said in a post-match press conference.
The win resulted in Blacklist International sitting atop the leaderboard after Week 1 concluded. ECHO, RSG PH, and AP Bren complete the top 4 list. Meanwhile, Minana EVOS found itself winless.
Week 2 gets more exciting with fans possibly seeing Smart Omega's Patrick "E2Max" Caidic leading the pack this time in their match against ECHO. Moreover, it's another match for Kelra to prove that he is the Gold Standard of the Philippines MLBB Esports, but can he live up to the expectations and the pressure, especially now that he is facing off another excellent gold laner Frederic "Bennyqt" Gonzales?
