After the recent Xiaomi-Shopee partnership launch, it was time for us to dig in the Philippines' most affordable smartphone that you can buy with Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor
\Here's the Xiaomi Redmi 5. The one that is available at the said store is the 2 GB RAM/16 GB ROM variant. The rest of the specs are at our previous blog post
The main attraction of the phone is the 18:9 display with still that minimum in the top and bottom bezels. Even with HD+ display, the colors were quite pleasing to me.
I chose to have the gold color as I had no problems in fingerprint smudges. The back though is quite basic in design as I already seen it in other Mi phones. The camera bump is quite there.
Same usual set-up: Volume rocker and power/unlock button at the right and hybrid dual SIM tray at the left
Happy that there's a phone with an IR blaster on a budget with this one plus the noise cancelling mic and 3.5 mm. audio jack at the top. Micro USB port, single speaker and mic at the bottom.
The unit is light and those who will buy it. There were not that much tweak changes on it's global MIUI version compared to the latest Mi phones that I had in the past few months. We will be reserving the photos of the Redmi 5 for now as we are preparing for something different.
