Just less than a kilometer away after at Coolato Artisan Gelato, we went to something Asian. It was my 2nd time to go Thai food at Siam Noodle House inside BF Paranaque.
Siam Noodle House was came out from the guys of the Thai resto that I recently reviewed which is Just Thai. The main highlight of this food place near Pergola Mall is Thai noodle soup but do not be fooled by its name as they also have some wonderful Thai treats. As you enter the place, it was like a spa for me for it's calming ambience and the good signature Thai background music.
The menu was printed on both Thai and English languages. For better understading, I chose the English names for the dishes that we ate.
First off the Squid Rings with 2 Dips (sweet chili sauce and sweet chili sauce + chili powder). I already tried a number of fried squid rings with some breadings but their offering was the best so far. The breading just compliments with the squid itself and as well to the 2 dips.
Then I saw and tried their 3 of their house drinks: Thai Milk tea, Tamarind tea and Lemongrass tea. The tamarind tea has a sweet and a kick of sour elements of tamarind but still manageable and a thumbs up to my taste. I only tried a bit of Lemongrass tea and it was like a detox for me. I already saw and tasted the Thai Milk Tea at Just That and it has the same great taste that I loved.
It was already dinner time and Kathy realized that we did not have rice yet for the entire tour yet so good thing that they also served their spicy beef fried rice. I am happy to know that you can adjust the spicyness of your food and even no spice at all even at their Tom Yum soup. For the remaining dishes, we set the spicy level at mild. I am not sure if they used Jasmine rice for this but the consistency was present on this one from the right amount of shrimp paste and beef. I can imagine that it was Thai's Cha han of Japan or Yang Chow in China. Great to tandem with the squid rings or this upcoming dish.
The Crispy Fried Fish. Yes, some might though that this is just your ordinary fried Tilapia but better to visit the place soon. They unlocked something on this fried food which is still delicious and the crispyness that you might thought that you are eating something with chicharon.
Siam Noodle House Glass Noodles - I cannot believe that they can serve this good for 4 of us for less than Php 200. I forgot all of the ingredients in here (it was my first time to eat this) but it was still fulfulling for me.
As this is a noodle house, of course the night was not complete without the trial of some of their choices. First off was the Seafood Green Curry with flat noodles, the soup with based from green curry and bagoong and some seafood in mix. I felt the typical Thai spicyness in this one and I am suprised that it went in a good way. Perfect for those who are really need to avoid the red meat.
But my favorite will be the Crispy Pork Noodle Soup coz I am a beginner for Thai noodles. They put in a right amount of crispy pork, some herbs, squid and some crushed peanuts. The taste of the soup was a nice combo from the pork and peanuts which is quite perfect for me this rainy season. Another thing, all of the Thai noodle soups are priced at Php 160, just half the price if to compare to Japanese ramen in some places.
I am delighted that all of of their treats there are not going beyond Php 300 which is very good for me and for those who are looking for a Thai resto in the south in a budget plus it is quite easy to locate if you are a commuter. My picks will be the Crispy Pork Noodle Soup and the Thai Milk Tea.
