I am already seeing this coffee shop + more in South Snippets Twitter page since 2014. I tried to visit there but there is really less than time for me until our Secrets of the South food crawl was on our last stop for desserts at Mystic Brew in BF Resort Las Pinas
It was a perfect night for us as they had an acoustic singer onboard during your dessert + more time. The place was kinda inspired from some magical related topics like in Harry Potter as well as the name of their foods.
Kathy had a little guessing for the 3 of us that night to guess what is inside the palayok? The answer was when we opened it - Wands of Cauldron - french fries and dips . What a surprise :)
We had a choice of our drinks either from their various choices of coffee and tea. I love to know that all of their coffee that they used are 100% from the Philippines representing all of the 3 states. I like that for supporting local, I had a delight as I drank that ice cappuccino, my added source of caffeine to survive the night.
Aside from the fries, we also had one pica-pica there which was the Basilisk Bites - pesto cheese sticks. It goes well for my iced cappuccino while their 2 of their star goodies on the way.
It was an eyecandy for me when they served the Crop Circles which is a crepe formed into small rolls plus some choco syrup and add in the cream and lots of mango cubes sprinkled with confectioner's sugar. For me, this can be a perfect food for date. One word: Heaven in terms of delicious level and I think this is the first time that I saw a food like this.
And the Martabak which is Indonesian version or answer to pancake but it is thicker that I can compare it with a cake. It is moist and filling to my tummy mainly with chocolate and peanuts inside. I only finished less than a slice of it but it is very good. If I am there with my group of friends, this might be my no. 1 option to satisfy our hunger .
My picks for the last stop of Secrets of the South will be both the Martabak and Crop Circles. On weekends, Mystic Brew is even open until 2 am so if you are in Las Pinas area, it is a good alternative to unwind or chill out if you need an alternative to some bars. Please like and follow Mystic Brew on Facebook and Twiter and of course, visit this more than just a coffee shop.
