Lenovo Vibe P1 first impressions, benchmarks, camera samples

And I'm down to the one with the biggest battery capacity in yesterday's Lenovo Mobile Philippines launch. Here is the Lenovo Vibe P1.

Front: 5.5 inch IPS FHD display with Gorilla Glass 3, 5 MP front camera, Android capacitive butttons, Home button/fingerprint scanner
Back: 13 MP rear camera with dual LED flash, Lenovo and Vibe logos, removable cover
Internals: 2 GB RAM, 32 GB ROM, 5,000 mah non-removable battery, dual nano SIM.

Top: 3.5 mm. audio jack, noise cancelling mic
Bottom: Dual speakers with pin hole mic hiding at the right section, micro USB port with USB OTG

Power/unlock button at the left, volume rocker at the right

The pulldown menu with lotsa controls which is one of the many things that I like on the latest Vibe UI including NFC. The device has 10 point multi touch.

CPU-Z said that it is a bit underclocked compared to Lenovo Vibe Shot. Internal memory was sourced from Samsung. On Antutu, it got a 37,597 unverified score.

I always prefer 16:9 style in pictures to the MP count dropped when I had it on these camera sample. The main shooter is at f/2.2 while taking selfies will have f/2.8 aperture.

Lenovo Vibe P1 rear camera (8.3 megapixels)

Lenovo Vibe P1 front camera sample (3.7 megapixels)

First impressions: Versus Asus Zenfone Max which has the same battery capacity, it is a lot lighter that you might forget that it has 5,000 mAh inside. Premium looks as expected on this one. The rear camera output looks nice but not on this selfie. I'm glad that Lenovo has put in real dual speakers at the bottom. I wonder on the thermal management on this device compared to the my latest Lenovo review which is the Vibe Shot. By the way, it also has a curved back which adds more comfort in one-hand navigation. My downer for this device so far is the dual nano SIM. I'm still contented in today's smartphones with micro SIM.

Lenovo Vibe P1 is now available in Lenovo Mobile stores and partner dealers for Php 14,999 with free screen protector and protective case
