After their achievement to be the first local brand in the country with Intel Sofia-powered smartphone, Ekotek has done it once again when they had a media gathering with some select bloggers in the metro.
Ekophone Sage 2 LTE is the brand's first smartphone with Android 5.1 Lollipop. Based on my database, it is the first available smartphone in the country with 1.0 GHz Mediatek MT6735 64-bit quad-core processor with LTE capability.
Front: 2 MP front camera, 5 inch qHD display, Android soft buttons, pin hole mic
Back: Removable back cover which in between of matte and glossy finish, 8 MP rear camera with flash, Ekophone and Sage 2 LTE logos, single speaker
Underneath: dual micro SIM, micro SD slot up to 32 GB, 2,500 mAh removable battery.
Top: 3.5 mm. audio jack and OTG capable micro USB port (got my USB on there!)
Bottom: Nothing

The Antutu gave us a confirmation on the said SoC and clock speed inside. Due to very limited time, I was not able to tap that big "test" button to get the score.
I would love to review this device soon once I got a go signal from the brand. They mentioned that it has a normal price of about Php 6,000 but as for the Chrtistmas season offer until the end of the year, it will be available for Php 4,499 in all of Ekotek stores around the country. I will have to update this blog post if this price will also be effective in Lazada PH and their other dealers.
