A few weeks ago, I got a chance to be in an anniversary gig of one of my fave local bands Typecast in Checkpoint Rock Bar.
Time flies fast from the first time that I heard the band thru a recommendation of a person way back in my college & now they were now 16 years strong. Bonus that it was also my first time to be in Checkpoint in their 2nd location. I was not able to visit the bar in their previous location in BF Paranaque before a fire hit them.
As expected, it was a jampacked gig that I had to fall in line for over an hour. After the first 3 local bands, I only got the chance to be inside before Valley of Chrome's set ended. Just the right timing that Nyctinasty was also there. I never been in their gig for years. Right timing for a time out in a number of smartphone reviews.
And the main event, the guys from Laguna. They played at around 18 songs which me and the rest of the crowd.delighted with our own choices of liquor. In between sets, they gave away some stuff from Macbeth. I noticed that they didn't have any song from their latest EP (the fans in their FB page decided for their set that night) but it was alright as there are some throwback feeling when they played some tracks from The Infatuation Is Always There album.
The gig ended at around 2 am. Even that we were all tired of anything that you can expect from a night like this, we really had a good time indeed.
