The front has 5 inch IPS qHD display plus the 2 MP front camera. The back has 8 MP AF rear camera with flash and f/2.0 aperture. Even from the picture itself, you can see the textured design which reminds me of a woman's wallet or handbag. What powers this device is 1.3 GHz Mediatek MT6582 quad-core processor with 1 GB RAM.
At the top comes the micro USB port and 3.5 mm. audio jack. At the bottom are the dual speakers. One of those sections comes with the mic. I forgot to ask if the phone supports USB OTG support and CTIA complaiant for the audio jack
The volume rocker is on the left, power/unlock button at the right section.
When you remove the back cover, you can see the 1,900 mAh removable battery, 2 regular SIM slots and micro SD slot. From this set-up, micro SD is hot swappable (as long as you gonna do it properly). Out of 8 GB ROM, 4 GB is allocated for the apps which is not that good, not that bad.
And here's the Ekotek Sage 8 MP rear camera sample taken from a section in Gateway Mall with good lighting condition. The camera shutter speed is average as well as the output.
First impressions: This is the 2nd Ekotek smartphone that I handled. Based on what I saw usually and what I had for hands-on, this is the best Ekotek phone that they released so far based on specs, real-life experience and price. I just hope that they will gonna bring it at least below Php 5,000 soon.
Special thanks to Peter and Angel of geekypinas.com as they allowed me to check the Ekotek Sage
