We got a hands on the MyPhone Rio 2 just minutes after it's launch together with the Rio 2 Lite
This is the front and back portions of the MyPhone Rio 2 box. It is quite a first time for the brand that they had a wider but thinner type of box. My guess is true that for every purchase of Rio 2, you can get a free Globe SIM with free 100 MB of Globe mobile internet for 15 days like in MyPhone. I asked one MyPhone official if they also gonna come out with almost the same freebie for Smart, there's no plans for now but they might come out one soon.
- The front section has the 5 inch IPS HD display and 5 MP front camera. At the back, you can see the 8 MP rear camera with flash, MyPhone and Rio 2 logos and speaker. I love the matte finish of this device unlike on what I previously described on MyPhone Uno. No problems on either oily or wet hands.
The top part has CTIA complaiant 3.5 mm. audio jack while its the micro USB port at the bottom. Unfortunately, it doesn't have USB OTG. When I asked one MyPhone official on the possible OTA for this improvement. As of now, he/she can't give an info if this will be a hardware or software issue.
Expect nothing at the left part while you can see the power/unlock button and volume rocker at the right.
The leak is true that this device has a 2800 mAh non-removable battery. There are 2 micro sims and a micro SD slot. I knew that some of Rio users got this experience so I tested that you can install apps via micro SD and can move apps to micro SD. Look at that move to SD card on Antutu.
A gliumpse of Antutu as confirmed that it has 1.3 GHz Mediatek MT6582 quad core processor with Mali 400 GPU. Out of 8 GB ROM, it has 4.9 GB for app storage.
As expected, it scored at over 19500 at Antutu while on Nenamark, it has 52.9 fps.
The device has accelerometer, light, orientation, proximity, sound and magnetic sensors. The internal memory was made by Hynix
And a glimpse from CPU Z
And the 8 MP rear camera sample and 5 MP selfie camera at that order. The rear cam has f/2.2 aperture while it's f/2.8 aperture at the front
Update: I checked that Rio 2 doesn't have an app drawer. I tested this with a Xiaomi Pistons earphones and the volume rocker works as it is like in MP Uno. Unlike in MP Uno which is the way to check your opened apps for multi tasking is menu button, it is into "old school" by press and hold the home button
