PCPPI Intros New Sto. Tomas Plant, Aims for Sustainability and More

It started to build last 2013 and with the recent announcement of the shutdown of Muntinlupa plant, Pepsi Cola Products Philippines Inc (PCPPI) is aiming for greater heights in Batangas province.

One of their 11 plants around the country, PCPPI officials proudly showed us and select invited media the capabilities and plans of their latest Sto. Tomas City plant which is in Barangay San Miguel

Present at the introduction were President and CEO Phyop Phyu Noe, Chief ESG Officer Atty. Carina Baylon and Southern Tagalog Region Operations Plant Manager Christopher Papa

The total land area of the said plant is 8 hectares and the building itself is 2.4 hectares of space with 644 employees with 3 lines of returnable glass bottles (RGB), 4 lines for PET bottled products and 3 lines for injection machine.

On the plant's capabilities, it can produce 600 bottles per minute (BPM) for and 8 oz and 7 oz RG, 500 BPM for 12 oz, 800 BPM for 300 and 290 ml. PET bottles for line 3, line 4 which is one of the fastest at 1000 BPM PET bottles (which they shown those Mountain Dew PET bottles in operation). They also shown us their warehouse which they can stock from 18 to 20 days worth of assorted products. We also saw the production of Liption PET bottles inside.

Quite in time that PCPPI recently reached their 36th last July 25, Mr. Noe revealed that they are targetting to have all of the 11 PH plants at a significant percent powered by solar when we asked and clarified about it. They are also proud that the 11 plants can withstand not only with the ongoing and anticipated typhoon and monsoon season in PH but also in natural causes as they are also going hand-in-hand with the local government in terms of donating like their drinking water. They are also aware of their water usage which they are improving year after year

Mr. Noe believed that the power of 200,000 sari-sari stores around the country can really help the brand to be on their current standing in the market. In addition, they also introducing a school-exclusive Gatorade 8 oz PET bottle which caters for students with their collaboration with DepED at Php 18 SRP and for the firs time, Gatorade power in sachet which can dilute in a 200 ml. for 12 pesos exclusive at all Mercury Drug branches nationwide.
