We had this one a few weeks ago, the first Huawei Y smartphone with full view display and pop-up selfie cam so here' our verdict on Huawei Y9 Prime 2019.
Here is what the box looks like from the official commericial unit of Y9 Prime 2019.
We got that blue-green colored device with the unique triple main cam set-up (coz it has 2 and 1 sensors unlike on the usual 3 cameras in one bar), Huawei branding in vertical fashion and rear fingerprint reader.
The right portion has volume rocker and power/unlock button. The enclosure and the side gaps reminded us some of the old Galaxy Note devices
The magic that they made it possible for the full view display by putting in the hybrid dual SIM tray at the top and of course, the pop-up selfiie cam but we wished that Huawei chose to put in a true dual nano SI solution in here. The bottom has USB Type C, 3.5 mm audio jack and speaker at the bottom.
The package also comes with a protective case, user manual, earphones (not on photo) USB Type C cable and 5V 2A charger
We chose to skip the screenshots of the device as it was the same as the previous EMUI 9.1 devices that we saw from other Huawei phones.
Connectivity: With Kirin 710F processor, nothing to complain about this phone on calls, texts, mobile data, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth and OTG
Battery: With 6.59 inch FHD+ display and 4,000 mAh battery, Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 lasted for 17 hours and 10 minutes. Using it on heavy mode, the phone can last for 1.25 to 1.5 days with 7 hours of average screen-on-time.
On cameras, Y9 Prime 2019 chose to laid primary (16 MP), wide angle and depth. Almost close as to the overall photo quality, color accuracy and image processing speed of standard Y9. On wide angle, they had a good implementation this time as some phones with wide angle - they do usually fail. Selfies are also a-ok and good thing, they laid a respectable f/2/0 shooter in there.

Even for year 2020, Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 was one of the few standouts for it's newly implemented price for it's full view display, a-ok processor, looks, USB Type Cand camera. Two things that you will gonna miss will be the lack of fast charging support and having true dual SIM support. For us, it's 4.25 out of 5 for Huawei Y9 Prime 2019
