It took for us in a while to release this latest verdict on this OPPO and finally, I got it. Here is our review of the most affordable in the OPPO F5 series (just look at the title)
On display and UI, it was almost the same story as the one that I experienced on the OPPO F5. You may not felt at first of that lack of 1 GB RAM of OPPO F5 Youth except if you gonna compare the "RAM remaining" in the multi task section of F5 Youth at around 50% (versus the one that I usally see at the standard F5 at around 60%). The physical looks were a-ok on our black review unit.
Here is the Antutu score of OPPO F5 Youth
On battery, it is quite surprising that the F5 Youth lasted longer on our video battery rundown test compared to standard F5. In the weeks that I used it as a daily driver, it took me plus 30 minutes on screen on time and more than a day of mixed usage.
On gaming, it was smooth on both titles that I played like Modern Combat 5 and Asphalt 8 as long as you tune in at the middle ground of the graphics department.
On audio, it was more than average just like what I got on the OPPO F5
Aside from RAM, the lower apertures of F5 Youth were the reasons for that lower price tag but the f/2.2 aperture of both sensors - I almost did not felt that I missed something on the details. The image processing speed is also good. The expert mode also worked as the selections that you can tune in. You can check more camera samples of OPPO F5 Youth thru our blog post here

Extras: Standard F5 has this feature but due to lack of time, I was not able to fully check it. In OPPO F5 Youth, they had the virtual controls which allows you to do some swiping gestures to fully maximize the 18:9 display which is almost the same as to the V7 (just remove the gesture at the center). Swiping from the bottom up at the left for menu and from the bottom up at the right for back button. Almost in all sections, it worked but I had some trouble when I already used MX Player on it as the app though that I am only rewinding the video. I already talked to an OPPO PH official regarding on that which I am expecting an OTA update on this discovery
During my review, it had a Php 13,990 price tag but thanks to OPPO Philippines that they made the SRP even better at Php 12,990 which widens the gap to the standard F5 at Php 15,990. That Php 3,000 difference is not that much sacrifice for that -1 GB RAM and missing the f/1.8 aperture rear cam but as long as you are utilizing the lighting conditions that will be given, you will be fine on the OPPO F5 Youth. A quite bang for the back for the price so I will gonna give 4.25 out of 5 to it.
