Just minutes before we will gonna witness it's brother, I have this lil frustation that most of their selfie phones do not have that all-day battery life (which I am rooting for now in their A series). Will the OPPO F5 a start to change my prespective before the year 2017 ends? Here's oiur OPPO F5
Battery life, big 18:9 display with FHD+, good form factor, FM radio (yah there's one compared to F3 series) and the power-efficient processor are the strengths of OPPO F5. I am expecting an OTA update soon from OPPO regarding on some faster processing when shooting on HDR. Php 15,990 is priced right in terms of OPPO's way of pricing for now as we never saw a phone yet with the same SoC inside. For us, it's 4.25 out of 5 for the OPPO F5
Thin factor, good body construction and the 18:9 display aspect ratio were the the wow factors in terms of looks of OPPO F5 as well as the discreet antenna lines. As I came in from a phone with HD+ display, coming in with 6 inch FHD+ display in the F5 is definitely better in terms of my long hours on mobile surfing. In terms of UI, there's nothing that we complain since we already saw it on OPPO A71 but with better performance. How I wish that OPPO will also gonna add in an option to hide the standard Android buttons and put in some unique gestures to fully utilize the 18:9 display
Connectivity - no issues whatsoever in calls, texts, mobile data, WiFi, OTG and Bluetooth
For the benchmarks, OPPO F5 can be categorized on the upper midrange segment. Just like what I suspected, it's Mediatek MT6763 processor inside was made on a 16 nm process
Which we will gonna go on the battery life. This is what I am dreaming off from a selfie-centric OPPO phone and finally it happened. My usual 6 hour screen on time on heavy mixed usage - it usually gives me with around 25% percent power juice left. Charging time is around 2 hours and 15 minutes from it's given 5V 2A charger is still pretty respectable
Audio - OPPO continues to bring in their Real Audio (once it is activated) technology but it only works for us for some mp3 listening if we need some isolation but turning it off seems more enjoyable to us.
On camera, OPPO F5 brought in 16 MP rear camera (with f/1.8 aperture) and 20 MP selfie camera (with f/2.0 aperture) . Shooting in auto mode is a breeze in terms of image processing as well in almost all types of lighting condition that we encountered. The tricky part though is when you shot in main camera in HDR. After you already saw the finished product in the viewfinder, you though that you will gonna have a blur-free pic but not. The trick is after the processed pic, you give at least two more seconds to hold the phone steady for a perfect photo
