It was not in a typical media-only set-up but I was able to catch up these two of the latest large-format printers by HP by a by-invite event for educators assembled by known tech store chain PCWorx
Two of their showcased products were on sight including the HP Designjet T120 and HP Designjet Z2600 large formart printers. The mission on that event is to educate their potential customers in the education sector to enlighten that printing big will really save them big too if they have one of those versus tapping it in other printshops
First off is HP Designjet T120 is their compact and easy to use solution for the said segment. It can print up to 24 inches wide, web and WiFi connecitivity, has built-in tray, front roll and single sheet, can go on 70 seconds per page on A1/D or 40 A1/D prints per hour, 256 MB RAM, 1,200 dpi print resolution, uses 4 HP Inks, compatible for Mac OS X and Windows, can email projects to the printer and print and HP's Designjet ePrint and Share too. This is the most affordable in the event area at Php 72,000+
The high-end for me is the HP Designjet Z2600 which uses 6 HP 745 inks and definitely more economical in terms of ink costs vesus the T120 at around 5 pesos per mililiter. This one can almost print on almost any types of paper from glossy, trace paper and others. For the rest of the qualities and specs, it has pigment-based photo inks suitable for pics, cabvas, GIS, HP Professional PANTONE color emulation, produces water and fade-resistant projects up to 200 years, can print via only the USB (as long as it is a .pdf, .png or .jpg file) has color touchscreen for controls, 8 GB virtual memory, 160 GB hard disk, can be connected online via the ethernet, maximum print speed of 43 sq. meters per hour and weighs 78.5 kilos with stand plus one-year limited hardware warranty. It is priced at Php 132,500.
Those prices were from PCWorx. For those who are interested, they must contact the said store for a pre-order which you can check their contact details thru www.pcworx.ph
