It was nice to this blog to be back after 2 years for ESGS 2016. This time, I had to buy a ticket to get it in but still had some good stories to share.
Before Day 3 (acutally it was already Day 2), SM Tickets outlet in Light Mall has a weird thing that the Day 2 still has some tickets but the Day 3 tickets were already sold out. At the same time, SM Tickets website had some problems when I tapped in the ESGS 2016 Day 3 hyperlink. Good gamble for me that I bought a ticket right at the venue and it was very manageable.
I stayed there from past 2 to past 9 pm. First thing that I dropped by was the Philippine Slam and Ranida Games booth. I had a chance to play the licensed PBA game app thru a compuer with the help of a wired controller and I had a good time. I grabbed the chance to have a lil chit chat with one of their people and mentioned of one problem that I saw from the game from day 1 up to this day, the game clock will run from the inbounds even that it is still on air and the receiver is about to get in the pass which is not.
I had a glimpse of the NBA 2K17 Finals at the main stage and it was an intense best of 3 from the 2 opponents.
On the Indie Arena, what brought my attention was the Adarna as it was really in Tagalog language. There were mobile games in the area including MotoGP which is currently on Android.
There were also a variety of stores there from anime-related items, shirts, Gunpla plus from big brands like Razer, AOC, MSI, and Predator.
Just Dance 2017 and Playstation 4 Games were also main attractions inside the venue. You can have a chance to play Tekken 7 and the upcoming Final Fantasy XV. It was a bit unfair for me when I played FFXV that there was no notice of only 5 minutes of gameplay allowed plus I had a PS4 which in the scenario that Noctis is only looking somewhere to camp. Of course, I want to see and experience the gameplay in a battle scene.
If I am not mistaken, almost the same roster of food vendors from 2014 were present at the area which the priced were reasonable. The last 2 things that took my attention was the MPGL Finals of CS: Go with 1nconsistent Team defeated Teaam Mineski in a best of 3 battle. The 3rd battle even went to an overtime. I also checked the finals of Vainglory which PH Alliance won the championshop with US$1,000 prize money.
Compared to 2014, ESGS 2016 was more meaty in terms of variety of gaming in different platforms which I do not have a ho-hum moments except those days before the event. I hope that 2017 will bring back this blog again in the coverage this time on the media list. Enjoy the pictures.
