Finally, I had my verdict on Cloudpad 702q Spotify Tablet. How does it fair to my taste? My results are there below.
The front and back views of the tablet with that built-in cover on.
3.5 mm. audio jack and micro USB port are located at the top. There's a cover nearby which you can see dual regular SIM slots and micro SD slot.
The whole package inside that big box of Cloudpad 702q Spotify tablet aside from the device. Yes, you can get a headphones and earphones plus free Globe prepaid SIM with 100 MB of mobile data per month for 2 months.
The UI is a typical Android 4.4 Kitkat for me. Expected that aside from Spotify app, Spotify wallpaper was also there at the tablet. No problems on my random stress test on this device for Mediatek MT8392 quad-core processor.
Next that I checked was the real score of 8 GB ROM. Unfortunately, only 2.3 GB of app storage was there inside which spells trouble for downloading heavy games and apps.
The tablet featured dual regular SIM and micro SD slot. I got no problems on surfing via 3G, WiFi as well for calls and SMS.
As the tablet has a built-in cover which acts like a stand in landscape mode, it was a fail for me (as I also had a demo on one Cloudfone official) that the stand cannot support the whole weight of the tablet which for me, you have to use your ever trusted tablet stand or lazypod.
On benchmarks, it has 5 point multi touch. On Antutu, it scored at 19,635 which is expected for this SoC.
On my battery rundown test with one SIM on 2G/3G mode and usual settings on MX Player, it lasted for 6 hours and 29 minutes from 100% to 2% which is good out of 2,800 mAh battery. In my real life test composed of calls, texts, gaming, media consumption and social media, I had at 15 hours with 4 hours of screen time.
On audio, the 3.5 mm. audio jack is CTIA compliant which is good. The big speaker at the back is loud and clear which gives more convenience on not bringing in a Bluetooth speaker. I'm already into WSVGA displays and this tablet has the same display quality that I saw on some Asus low budget tablets that I experienced. Both provided earphones and headphones are average in terms of sound quality in almost all of the genres that I checked thru the Spotify app.
On charging with 1.5 ampere output, it can be fully charged for 2.5 hours which is also good.
I recently had a review of another quad-core tablet and with almost the same specs, I knew that Mediatek SoC will have an edge over AllWinner and it showed here on Cloudpad 702q. The price tag of Php 4,499 is a-ok for me as you have to consider those two audio accessories and a rare big speaker at the back plus the provided Globe SIM with mobile data. One bad thing for me was they opted out for the "unified storage" set-up out of 8 GB ROM. I'll gonna rate Cloudpad 702q Spotify tablet a 4 out of 5
