After a few months, I was given a chance to do another review from international tech brand Kata. This time, it's not a tablet or a smartphone.
Meet the Kata Box which is currently the most affordable Android TV box that you can find right now. These are the front and back portions of the box which really looks like a cube.
They also included a Bluetooth game controller which is quite familiar with other known console controllers in terms of appearance but the quality of this thing is impressive for it's price. It has the usual directional and analog controls, play/pause button, MegaVPN button, start button and a total of 8 more buttons plus the BT switch and micro USB port at the top.
These are the top and bottom views of the Kata Box itself. I am happy that it is quite small but it has good enough processing power with 1.5 GHz Amlogic quad-core processor with 1 GB RAM, 8 GB ROM plus micro SD up to 32 GB. The size is looks like only a bit bigger of your typical powerbank which means portability is on a high score on this device.
The right part has USB port which is dedicated to connect the BT controller. The back has almost all of the remaining ports like AV output (for CRT TVs), another USB port, micro SD card, DC input, full sized HDMI port and ethernet port. Of course, it can also be connected via WiFi.
The package also includes a wall plug with 1 ampere output and remote control which powered by a CR2032 battery (which you can find in some watch repair shops if you need one)
I will gonna maximize on what the Kata Box can do either in your CRT or LED TV which will bring a lot of "smartness" as it can be an instant Android running device. Expect a review soon but you can buy it right now in Kata stores around the nation for Php 2,999
