Like in a number of tech-related events, the night will not be complete without some test as I checked out one of the available R7 smartphones in the country, here's the Oppo R7 Lite.
Here are all of the sides of the device. In comparison to the recently introduced Oppo Mirror 5, this is a bit on the heavier side but it's ok as the brand claimed that it has 91% metal body (also in R7 Plus) which gives me a sturdier feel to the phone.
The phone and messaging app
The biggest on my checklist about on this device is the relatively new to country that is 1.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor. I already tested some 1.5 and 1.7 GHz variants of the said SoC so I really installed an Antutu to confirm it.
If accurate, Antutu said that it has a max. clock speed of 1.362.2 GHz which is safe to say to round it off to 1.4 GHz (but I'll gonna use the 1.3 GHz one). I got an unverified score of 32,909 which is not bad for a midrange handset.
On the camera UI side, Oppo continues to put in 4:3 aspect ratio on both cameras. One thing that I noticed on the front camera - no more normal shot so if you want to take a selfie without those enhancements, either to user beautify mode then set to normal or the Ultra HD mode.
