Kris Angelica's debut single "Sabi-sabi" topped Spotify's Viral Chart Philippines, two weeks after its trending release last June 23.
Sabi-Sabi is a song about reaching out for one's dream despite the discouragements from other people. For the few weeks since the song was launched, many shared their reactions, thanking the artist for the inspiration.
Kris Angelica was also overwhelmed with the listeners' acceptance toward the song. " Hindi ko po akalain na ganun ka-hit yung kanta. Nung una po, ang gusto ko lang talaga ay ma-appreciate ng ibang tao yung pag-hihirap ko, ng family ko and ng lahat ng sumuporta sa'kin para sa pangarap ko," the young singer said.
"Nakakatuwa po na madami din ang na-inspire sa kanta. Sana yung ibang tao din ay pilitin na abutin yung mga pangarap nila... At 'wag makinig sa mga sabi-sabi, eh eh!" Kris Angelica said happily.
The single, which is under VIVA Records and RED Models and Talents Manila, is written by Thyro and Yumi, the same composers who wrote hits singles of Sam Concepcion's Dati, James Reid's Hanap-Hanap, Nadine Lustre's Paraparaan, and Sarah Geronimo's Kilometro and Ikot-ikot.
