If you are following a number of international tech sites, you might be familiar with numerous legal issues between Samsung and Apple. Thru an article which is in the source, it revealed that Apple also fought something against a local mobile brand here.
Apple lost the trademark battle against MyPhone fron distributing and selling products with the "MyPhone" lines.
This case was born way back in 2009, 2 years after the first iPhone. 4 days before the apperance of the first iPhone (June 25, 2007 to be exact) that Ms. Elena Lim registered MyPhone.
According to Intellectual Property Office which released it's decision last week "The buying public should be creditred with a modicim of intelligence and discernment in purchasing...mobile phones where brand patronage or consciousness is prevalent...noting that not onlt was MyPhone marketed as a local Pinoy phone it's product markings and marketing materials generated distinct commercial impressions than those of the global marketing campaigns and product literature of the California-based company".
