Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is quite on what's happening online and the power of internet which leads to their 2nd edition of AFP Social Media Summit happened recently in AFP Theater.
It was a whole day as various featured speakers were there to share their thoughts on anything on social media, internet and cloud computing to most of the attendees. Some of the tech media and bloggers that I knew were there like Gian Viterbo of Gadget Pilipinas and Raffy Pecson.
What took my attention when Ms. Rosario Juan brought back those stories which really helped the information to be spread in times of the recent typhoons like #ReliefPH, #RescuePH and those connected hashtags that various NGOs and goverment agencies view on Twitter.
The most anticipated guest of honor in the event, AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. was there as he really believed on the power of social media and internet for good purposes. Most of the time, he read some news that affect in the country thru various news websites.
