I'm not enough on Satchmi's Vinyl Day 2015 which happened a few weeks ago. Good thing that they had their week-long Record Store Week 2015 which they celebrated by giving discounts on vinyls, turntables and watch some interesting, new local artists for free.
I went on the April 16 set which was still on the right timing as I listened to Miles Experience in their not-their-usual acoustic set. Honestly, still don't heard their materials yet on Jam 88.3 but I'll try my best to catch their tunes there soon (better if they have a Soundcloud page)
Next was one of my new fave acts that I discovered from Sofar Sounds Manila anniversary last October, Dearest. I just found out that they're an Ateneo-based band which I adore (mainly on Ateneo Musicians Pool). Catchy songs and harmonious vocals really got me hooked to this local indie band. I'm looking forward to their debut album soon.
I'm happy that I finally saw Maya's Anklet. I still remembered their 2009 guesting at The Brewrats radio show. Good thing that there's still together and now they have an album. You can still catch their known single "Answer" on Jam 88.3's Republik
Good thing that I stayed until around 10pm as they had Dayaw as the final artist on that day. My senses really awakened by their own style of "world" music. You can compare this band to known world bands like Pinikpikan and Kalayo (Oh, at one time, they both have the same female vocalist) and their female vocals really has the voice as the 2 bands that I previously mentioned. They got the most number of applauses that night that most of us cheered for "More!". You can like the band's Facebook page at facebook.com/saliwdayaw
And a glimpse of the crowd and some of Satchmi which you can find at the 4th floor of Mega Fashion Hall, SM Megamall
