Together with other known local tech bloggers, I am lucky that Xiaomi Philippines officials took us for a tour of their first exclusive service center in the country located in San Juan City.
As I entered their space, we were greeted by some Mi Bunny stuffed toys, that known Mi logo, their friendly staff and some of the available Mi smartphones like the Mi 3 and Redmi 1S and a Xiaomi MiPad.That day was not complete without the presence of Mr. Steve Vickers, Director of Business Operations and General Manager for Xiaomi Global who’s got a lot of nice credentials if you can see his LinkedIn account.
As we already saw the MiPad, I can’t help but to ask him on the possible arrival of their first tablet in the country. He said that there are no plans for now as well as to the Mi 4. I also asked on the Redmi 1S LTE and Redmi Note LTE but still no plans coz of the LTE band differences in the brand’s home country and here.
We also had a tour inside as we encountered their tech staff as he’s repairing a Mi 3 at that time coz of using 3rd party sim adaptor. Xiaomi PH staff promised that devices can be repaired within 2 hours. As I’m remembered the international Youtube channel iFixIt at that time, I grabbed the chance to take a pic of Mi 3’s motherboard which it carries the Snapdragon 800 processor
I also have my first impressions, benchmarks and camera samples of the Xiaomi MiPad in another blog post.
