MyPhone Rio Craze unboxing, first impressions (update!)

Last July 26, I was able to witness the launch of one of the most affordable Android Kitkat phones in the country, the MyPhone Rio Craze. In a bit of unfortunate situation, I don’t have the pics of the actual unit as to anticipate on some unexpected things (like the surprise announcement of Infinity Lite). Good thing, nice executives from MyPhone allowed me to borrow a review unit of the 4th member of Rio family.

Update: The review of the MyPhone Rio Craze is already out thru this link!

The box itself is quite environment-friendly as the local mobile phone brand tried it’s best to put a 4 inch device into a small box. If you can see the actual box, it is like a typical size of a box of a feature phone.

The front has the VGA camera, speaker and the outer plastic coating (as one of MyPhone officials explained to me that their recent offerings has the outer plastic coating on it and it is not considered as a screen protector). There’s a LED notification on top of the speaker. Blinking yellow green goes for SMS, blinking red for low battery and solid red if you’re charging the device. The glossy back cover is not that much into “finger-print-magnet-crazy” compared to Infinity Lite. I’m quite surprised that there’s no speaker grill.

The left portion has the volume rocker while there’s no function on the right part.

The top portion has the 3.5 mm. audio jack, micro USB slot and power/unlock button. Pin hole mic is at the bottom. All of the physical buttons are attached at the back casing like the one in Nokia X.

What’s inside the box are the 1,300 maH removable Li-iON battery, warranty certificate, user manual, earphones and micro USB to USB cord.

Here’s the sneak peek inside of the device. Another unique set-up for the dual sim slot. The sim 1 slot is at the top while the sim 2 slot is under the sim 1’s slot. The micro SD slot is on the left part. The 500 mA charger is right enough for the battery capacity.

That’s it for now for the MyPhone Rio Craze. Stay tuned for my review of this latest offering of MyPhone from the colourful Rio line-up
