I’m happy for my only 2nd Smart-related event for me as a blogger as this became a meaningful one for me as for the love for independent music from some local artists as I went way thru inside of it as Spinner Indie had their event over a week ago. The difference was I’m also there as an indie music lover.
Remember the good ol days of Nokia IAC (Independent Artists Club)? This has almost the same purpose but now with the smartphone age and thru the help of Smart, indie artists can now submit their works and if approved, it will be available either for audio streaming or purchase via download at Spinnr app to over 72 million mobile subscribers.
This event was led by Mr. Jim Ayson and Ms. Vida Sioson with the help of the tutorials from Barbie Almalbis (about her stompbox or you can it the guitar FX pedals), Francis Reyes (as he showed this musicality both on hardware – his guitar and a software- the Garageband on Macbook), Similar Objects (on being a laptop musician), Lee Grane (on using the social media to spread the music), Mony Romana (about indie artists should do on music business) and Vin Dancel (as he introduced the Juma-jam app which is currently available on iOS and soon for Android devices)
For me, those amazing moments was when I asked Barbie about one of her FX pedals which is the voice pedal which will make the voice of the singer like it’s times 2, Francis Reyes’ little demo on Garageband and Similarobjects who did a little remix using the live guitar riff that Barbie did earlier during the program. Lee Grane also had a premiere of her latest song right there during the event and ready for download at Spinnr app
After the talks, live indie music must be present there as it was provided by Joee and I, Sinyma, Similarobjects and a 1-track performance by Francis Reyes (as requested) using his ever dependable
guitar, synth and Garageband in his Macbook.
Streaming on Spinnr is affordable for as low as P2.50 per day and no more other mobie data charges. It is available for Smart, Talk n Text and Sun Cellular. You can purchase a song and it will be deducted to your prepaid load if you’re a prepaid subscriber. For indie artists who are interested, just register at www.spinnr.ph/indie .
