People behind Dropbox app visited Manila

I am lucky that in a known IT-related event in Makati a few weeks ago that I met the people from the known online storage app Dropbox.

The organizers ask them on from San Francisco on why they had an interest to visit Southeast Asia specially in the Philippines. They paid a visit here for future possibilities here for their app and for the challenge as the region somewhat currently experiencing slow internet access which is related for transferring files online.

They also presented their 2 newest projects. First is the Carousel (available in Google Play) which serves as a picture and video gallery for what you have stored in your Dropbox account. I tried out the app as it can also view your pictures offline (like your stock Gallery app on Android). Another one is Hackpad (currrently available in iOS App store). Through the app, you can have collaborative notes, share data and files asynchronously.

I am hoping that they will gonna drop by again in our local shores with a bigger bang for Dropbox
