A
few weeks ago, we dropped by at the Telego office, one of the newest mobile
phone brands in the country to check this one Android device which we checked
as the most affordable 5-inch quadcore smartphone so far, the Telego W980. You
noticed the words “not so full review’ in our title. We will tell to you later
why. Meanwhile, here’s the specs:
Dual
sim, dual standby, 3g capable on one sim (both regular sim card slots)
5
inch QHD not scratch proof display (not sure if IPS)
MTK
6589 quadcore processor
8
MP rear AF cam with single LED flash
2
MP front cam
1
GB RAM/ 4 GB ROM
2100
mah battery
Bluetooth/
WiFi
CTIA
compliant
As
we checked the back section, it is good to know that it has a matte finish. As
you can see at the pic that it has 5 point multi touch which is good news for gamers. Due to some
cimcurstances, we only had a chance to try Temple Run 2 at highest settings
which is ok as expected. On Antutu, it scored 13499 which is a bit higher thanks
to its QHD display. For sensors, the missing sensors are the temperature and pressure
On
video using MX Player, it’s good to know that it is CTIA complaint but we
noticed that compared to the last CTIA complaint-phone that we tested (the Kata
i3), it has a slight delay when we pushed the pause/play button on the stock
earphones. On FM Radio, it has RDS and the volume is loud enough as well as to
audio player. The 8 MP camera in a normal light scenario is average. One
concern that we checked when we checked that it only has 0.5 A charger (but we
don’t have an idea on the charging time)
Front camera sample (normal light)
Rear camera sample (normal light)
We
posted it as a not so full review as sadly, the people behind the mobile phone
brand never allowed us to have a review unit (after waiting an approval for a
week) of the said device as they only allowed us to review it on their office
which is quite impossible because we need to test it on real life performance
on day to day basis. Because of that, we don’t have any answers to these
questions like the actual charging time, 1080p playback, battery efficiency,
heat concerns while gaming, 3g signal, WiFi signal reception and so on.
Our
lines are still open for the company and we are hoping to finish our review of
the said device for the benefit of our readers as well as for the potential
consumers.
