Playstation 4 Philippines Launch Day 2

Sony Philippines had their first ever Playstation launch for the Philippine market happened at the Glorietta 2 Activity Center for the Playstation 4

We chose the day 2 event as it was a more interesting line-up for us. As we checked, there were 4 types of PS4 packages that were on sale. The good part, it is well-organized. The selling area is separated for the open to all area were spectators can check and test the device for 5 minutes.

We also checked the accessories including the controller. Unlike the PS3 controller, it is lighter despite that it has a battery pack and for the first time, the light bar on the top which will explain to you later.Vertical stand and charging station for the wireless controllers were also there.

On the PS4 UI, you can command 2 kinds of virtual robots namely the airbots and Absio with the help of the PS4 camera and the controller via the light bar. That feature was called the playroom. For the airbots, you can do almost anything while playing on them on the screen. Absio was a ball-like robot that flies. You have to swipe a few times to the center part of the controller so that the said robot will appear. We noticed that when a visitor comes into the screen, it will have a “screening process” but it will do no harm. You can control Absio thru L and R buttons and the directional sticks.

For the main event, racer Michelle Bumgarner and celeb Victor Basa together with people from the audience compete for Need for Speed game on the big screen. UAAP stars Jeron Teng, Ray Ray Parks, Arnold Van Opstal and Kiefer Ravena had a demo of Psy’s Gentleman on the Just Dance game and played the 2-on-2 mode and the exhibition game mode of NBA 2K14. Even at that event, it’s ADMU vs DLSU (Teng vs Ravena) on the finals. Jeron won the final game. The audience who also participated also got a prize from Sony.

Since Playstation 1 days, we were already fans of the said gaming console. Good job to Sony Philippines for this nice event and putting competitive prices of the console packages compare to some physical and online shops.
