Cherry Mobile launched Omega HD (and surprise) Flame 2.0

March 18, 2012 was another anticipated for local smartphone enthusiasts as Cherry Mobile not just 1 but 2 groundbreaking smartphones.

First was the Cherry Mobile Omega HD, here are the specs:

MTK 6577 1 ghz dual-core processor
Android Jellybean 4.1.1
5-inch HD IPS display
12 mp rear cam with BSI tech. and auto-focus
2 mp front cam with BSI tech. and auto-focus
Dragontrail  glass display
143.5 x 71 x 9 mm
WiFi b/g/n, bluetooth, 3g and GPS
1 gb ram
4 gb internal memory (2.8 gb usable)
Expandable up to 32 gb micro SD
Dual sim, dual standby
Can record video up to 720p
Can play video up to 1080p (using mp4 in native player)
2100 mah
P7999

This was the 1st HD IPS smartphone for CM. We had some hands-on experience and we can feel the smoothness of the said device alongside with it's HD display. As for the games, we tested Dead Trigger 1 there as I after I chose my weapons to the actual game itself, it only loaded about 9 seconds which is pretty fast. There's no lag as I played a few minutes there. The helpful crew from CM also had a scratch test (to test it's Dragontrail glass), this "call card test" (which means that even you have a gloves or 3 call cards are on the display, you can still control and swipe the screen) and the "water dripping test" (which  you can still control the display event there are water droplets onto the screen)

When we thought that the event was over, think again. CM's Brand Officer for Smartphones Mr. Miguel Bonifacio shocked us and the rest of media and blogging community there as the real reason for this event. They launched their first momentous quad-core smartphone named Cherry Mobile Flame 2.0

Cherry Mobile Flame 2.0 specs:

Android 4.1 Jellybean
1.2 ghz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor
4.5 qhd display
Picture-in-picture function (which means you can use the front and rear cams at the same time either for photo or video)
5 mp rear cam with flash and auto-focus
VGA front cam
1 gb ram
3g, bluetooth, WiFi b/g/n
Dual-sim, dual stand by
Can record video up to 720p
Can play video up to 1080p (using mp4 in native player)
1600 mah
P6999

One spec that we can be concerned of that device was the 1600mah for a quadcore device but don't worry as a promo until May 31 2013,  every purchase of Flame 2.0 will have a free 2000mah power bank and will be available in participating dealers and online stores

Both devices will be available on the 1st week of April.
