I got an email from one of my online friends and I'm surprised about this:

It's an invite to the Tunay Na Lalake Facebook contest by Belo Men which they gonna give away Belo Men products and 5,000 pesos weekly and an Iphone 4 as the grand prize winner

You just have to click the link to bring you in to their Facebook app and online game (Of course, you have to be logged in to Facebook) Click here!

I Am LOUD and Proud

There are some things that I'm proud to be LOUD.

Since 2007, I'm a loud brewster or simply a fan of the radio show entitled The Brewrats. It came to the point that I'm currently running one of the competing and trend-setting blog sites based in the metro which is all about the said radio show and everything and between. I also put up my first-ever in the local shores, the live tweetcast = sending live updates thru the help of twitter and this blog

I'm also a loud supporter of the Eraserheads and the post-Eheads bands. Up to this date, I'm still watching, supporting and buying their original stuff.

I'm that loud just like the new Loud fragrance by Tommy Hilfiger (and I'm also happy that The Ting Tings did a good tune for Tommy Hilfiger Loud)

My Christmas Wish This Year: A Nokia C7

My Christmas wish for this year is to have a new mobile phone. Not just an ordinary phone but a mobile phone with spanking great features fit for a blogger, IT geek, road tripper and a multi-task person like me

As of today, I never had a chance to have a 3G phone phone especially a touch screen phone. I also searched for great handsets until I logged in to Nokia Philippines site and Nuffnang Philppines and I saw their new Nokia C7

I read the features section of the Nokia C7 site and I just said "I just got the mobile phone that I want for Christmas!". I'm very pleased to what Nokia C7 can do for me. Here are the reasons on why I must have this

Beautifully crafted design: A great touch screen phone with 3.5" high-resolution display plus three home screens to personalize the contacts, apps and more. I'm a fan of "shortcuts" on mobile phones which means you can access on what I need on my phone. Talking about multi-tasking, the C7 can easily switch to the apps that are currently running by just tapping it.

Integrate social networks: Facebook and Twitter are the 2 most important and revelant social networking sites that I need for me as a blogger and also as an admin for some Facebook fan pages. I had done the first-ever live tweetcast (live updates via Twitter) in the Philippines over a year ago and still doing this for some important events that I cover in this blog and other blogs that I managed. Most of the live tweetcast that I had done so far (and for sure in the future) were on location like in a radio booth, theme parks, rock gigs, etc. With this feature, I can now send updates for both social networking sites thru words and pictures with less effort and more efficiency in my part.

Apps and more from Ovi Store: Apps are very important for me especially if it's an Ovi. I have an Ovi Mail. Ovi just got a lot of helpful apps like Ovi Apps for Facebook and Twitter and for my blog. I'm also a fan of mobile phone games and podcasts so downloading of those things will now be no sweat for me.

Maps with GPS navigation: Another reason on why I must have a high-end phone, GPS. I'm a road tripper as I go within the metro or nearby provinces for events and specially rock gigs. We can't blame on some indie but great bands who usually perform both in known and new bars. If it's a new bar, you'll need the directions on how to get there. I can be also an instant tour guide if I'm in a carpool with some of my friends.

The best in mobile entertainment: I admit that one of the weaknesses of this blog is less pictures . That's because of I don't have a good camera as of this moment. With C7's 8 MP camera, I can now bring more life and colors to my future blog posts (as this will benefit you and all who visited this blog and my other blog sites). I can now also do some tweet pictures on my live tweetcast. What's more that it has a video option in HD. Even I'm outside of the house, I can watch great cable channels or tune to the radio and listen to my all-time favorite The Brewrats

Powered by Symbian ^3: Even though there are phones that are powered by other mobile operating systems, I still prefer to have a Symbian. Why? It eats less battery than others especially when I need to run multiple apps or playing a mobile game for hours. As a bonus for IT geek like me, there's an option that I can develop a new app with ease. Coolness. A heaven sent mobile phone for me

Since 1998, me and my siblings are sticking to Nokia phones because of its quality, durability and a mobile phone that you can really rely on.

So I'm saying and wishing loud and proud for this: "My Christmas Wish This Year is a Nokia C7"

My Eveready Moment - Typhoon Basyang

July 12-13, 2010, the dates which an unexpected typhoon was about to break in the metro.

I'm talking about the typhoon Basyang. The night (or hours) before Basyang was about to strike Metro Manila, I already had a doubt that this will be a threat for everyone of us in Luzon for days. Good thing that we had enough stock of frozen and canned goods.

One in the morning when the electricity had to cut down coz of the potential strong rains and winds. I'm not surprised with that. I'm the only one in the house who's still awake at that time. My family members sometimes will wake up for a pee. The luxury of having 2 mobile phones became an advantage to that time. One is for twitter updates (including from media, PAG-ASA, some radio stations who also became victims of that blackout as some of their signals went down and some celebs who also experienced the same situation) and the other one for radio. The winds were that strong that I don't want to sleep until it's over coz that might really do some damage in our house plus a potential casualty, our tree

Thank God that I had my pouches of cereal drinks and my size-D powered Eveready batteries were loaded in my flashlight to check the surroundings. I can't go outside of my house due to the winds but thanks to Eveready batteries coz the light really goes beyond the distance. I constantly check the tree, the electrical wires and the roof clinging in a metal brace in our small garage. My situation that time was like a soldier sneaking in piles of stuffed sacks but instead of sacks, I'm near in one of our windows.

Hours passed until around 5:30am of the next day when the strong winds were already done. As expected, almost all of the leaves of our tree scattered in different places but I just took a 5 hour sleep to knock off the mess created by the typhoon

Electricity was still not up yet so here comes Eveready once again to reload the radio transistor of my pop to get some news. That time, it became clear that Metro Manila was really devastated.

The story was ended in good note (at least in our area) as the electricity restored (as well as the mobile signal and our usual day flow of life) before evening, just minutes before listening to my favorite radio show

At The Nuffnang-PLDT Watchpad Special Screening of The Social Network

Few hours ago, it was my first time to be in a special screening of Nuffnang Philippines with the help of PLDT Watchpad as they featured the film (aka the Facebook movie) The Social Network

It happened in the Cinema 1 of Greenbelt 1 at around 6:25pm (but they're already giving away the tickets an hour before the showing)

Nuffnang gave away a PLDT myDSL Watchpad wifi router to the best blog post regarding The Social Network movie tickets contest and 5 goodie bags from PLDT Watchpad

I won't give spoilers in this blog post but just like what the Rotten Tomatoes had said in their site, it was great and 2 thumbs up to the movie.

It was a good 2 hours worth of viewing pleasure from the beginnings of that school-based social networking site until it became one of the most popular social networking sites of today

If not mistaken, the regular showing of this movie will start on October 27 so it was really a treat for me specially that I'm using Facebook

Here's the trailer of that said movie:

Nuffnang and PLDT myDSL Special Screening

Nuffnang Philippines together with PLDT myDSL will having a special "for Nuffnangers only" screening of the film that I'm waiting for this year (a.k.a. the film about Facebook) entitled "The Social Network".

Here's my answer to their question: "The Social Network is to Facebook, as PLDT myDSL modem+wifi is an awesome connectivity to my online life and to the online world"

Good thing that there's already a PLDT myDSL+wifi bundle available coz I can now connect to my wifi-enabled mobile devices without the need of my PC plus the trusted DSL speed of PLDT.

The special screening of The Social Network will be on October 19, 2010 Tuesday 6:25pm at Greenbelt 3 Cinema 1 and it is brought exclusively for Nuffnangers, special thanks to Nuffnang Philippines and PLDT myDSL.
