My Pa-Yearend Blog: (What If There's A) Brewrats Soundtrack 2007-2009

I can't believe that this show was already going in their 3rd year and one of the sidelights of this radio show were the "unique" songs which mostly represent on eact "rat". Most of this playlist we're from DJs Tado and Angel (or a favorite of all of them). I don't even remembered a particular signature (or a favorite) song of DJ Ramon that he wants to play. This was based from their over 2-year stay in 99.5 RT and for sure, they played these songs at least 5 times. Just read the tracklist and you might remember the old Brewrats days. Enjoy.

Spotlight Artist for Dec. 2009 - Jan. 2010: The Squeezers

I got interested in this particular band when I saw their first gig in early 2008 in Mangaholix event in Mall of Asia. I even remembered that there's also a big event that's also scheduled in that mall but still I was hooked by their "college band-like" type and a little 90s Pinoy band kind of music. What's more that I saw them in the last 2 Eraserheads tribute gigs that I attended and I really noticed a little pinch of Eheads in their sound plus they improved a lot more as a band. I also catched their guesting in our beloved radio show The Brewrats way back October 2008. Year 2009, here comes their debut album called Highway Eskinita and days from now they will release a first-of-its-kind album in an USB drive. (talking about "genius"). Here's my exclusive interview with the band

1. Is this the original band line-up?

No. Si Byron & Jeremy lang ang original members.

2. Date/month and year that the band established

Squeezers was formed when Byron (the guitarist/vocalist of the band) was still in high school. Members back then were still different. Byron and Jay are siblings. Squeezers changed its lineup on 2007 where Judith joined then followed by Cliff who recently joined the band early this year.

3. Why the name "Squeezers"

The band was named SQUEEZERS because its members believe that they should squeeze out their best talents, let others see how they express themselves through music and inspire people.

4. How did you get that opportunity to be interviewed at the Brewrats?

May gig kame noon sa 9mile bar, nakita namin si Ramon Bautista with Lyle Sacris sa isang tapsihan sa kalayaan. Binigyan namin sya ng album and we asked kung pwede kame mag guest sa Brewrats.

5. I'm just curious, I saw the band for the first time in Mangaholix event in early 2008, how's the band in that time?

Wala pa kaming album nun, 2nd gig namin yun with Judith as Bassist.

6. How many months did you prepare and record your debut album?

Nyahaha.

7. (This question was inspired by a lot of times that I saw you in some Eraserhead-themed gigs) What's/What are the particular Eheads song/s that you really want to cover but you can't do as of the moment?

Butterscotch & Combo on the Run

8. What's gonna be that one particular song that will really represent the band's sound?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Field Trip!

Now you can listen to the Brewrats and U92 nationwide

Yes, even you're in Visayas, North Luzon or on Mindanao. No need for that internet streaming.

Weeks ago, my friend shared me an info that he can listen to U92 fm thru his subscription of Cignal Digital TV (U92 fm is on Channel 85). Of course, you can only see a plain background picture with a Cignal logo with the radio as its sound. It gave an interest to call in their hotline. From what I know, Cignal's service is nationwide so my one question is "Can I still listen to U92 even I'm a subscriber outside of Mega Manila?". I asked one of the friendly customer service representatives and she answered and confirmed "Yes!"

There are 2 plans avaialble in the subscription, theres P390 and there's also less than a thousand pesos. Better to ask their hotlines in your area for more info.

So here it is, your another option to listen to the Brewrats and U92

Uploaded my own video ad ahead of time

I’m about to release that today but I’m concerned on the upcoming internet traffic. Of course, there’s still some brewrats-related in that video. I just want to use that as a tool as my introduction to the new brewsters. It’s quite also an online gift to myself.

Happy Holidays to you and your families
