I Enjoyed My Century Bangus Fillet In A Warehouse

Sometime in October 2009, it was one typical working day for me. I was one of the many people in our company to be assigned in the morning shift. When I had to do my own assignment when I'm in the morning slot, one of my concerns is to eat something different at my lunch in each passing day. In that particular day, I'm lucky that I remembered that can of Century Gourmet Bangus Fillet Spanish Style in our kitchen shelf. Everytime that I used to go to the supermarket, I always look for new items specially something related for my tummy. I'm glad that Century created a product like this for someone like me who's exploring for good food. What I also liked about this product is because its in easy-to-open can. An added convenience for me as I may eat this anytime, anywhere. The question is: am I gonna be happy after I consumed this for the first time? I will find out at my lunch break.

And my day started with a little briefing from our bosses and a lot of action-packed chores at the workplace. Me and my co-workers were in silence as we were as busy as an ant colony. That thing just broke up when it's only minutes to noonbreak. As expected, I already heard those buzzes "What's your viand today?", "Where's the best carenderia to hang out?" and so on. It's no surprise when one of our heads came in and announced "Kailangan pag nag lunch break kayo, by batch." That development means that we have to maximize the time in our today's workload. Me and my work buddy Ace put us in the last batch because we already knew the tactics on the work that day. After that, we were happy that we did our job as early that our expected time frame.

So here comes half past lunch time. Ace and I are searching for any possible slots in that long line of carenderia and food stalls. My work buddy was a bit sad after his favorite food stall just ran out of his favorite meal. Imagine Ace has a big question mark on his head after I said "Let's go there!". As expected, he's not in favor at my suggestions because we even don' have any dish to compliment our packed rice. I just said to him to buy some softdrinks and I'll take care of the rest. After that, we were ready to discover the intriguing taste of Century Gourmet Bangus Fillet Spanish Style in an unusual yet peaceful place to eat: in one of our vacant warehouses. We both gave a great approval after we consumed the entire contents. The bangus fillet pieces inside the can were delectable and delicious. Ace also liked the product because of it's right spicy kick. It's quite suitable for someone Bicolano like him. The end result: we both approached that bench area with a full stomach to carry.

Thank you Century Gourmet Bangus Fillet for providing us a great, sumptuous and delicious gorumet on the go.

My Love and Tribute to Tower Records A.T.C. (also known as M1 A.T.C.)

My Love and Tribute to Tower Records A.T.C. (also known as M1 A.T.C.)

Way back in my high school, whether I'm going to buy CDS or just to watch band gigs (coz that's the only other option to watch a band gig aside from a mall tour, I'm not allowed to go to bar gigs that time). I used to go in this particular record store in Alabang Town Center known that time as Tower Records (which later the name changed to M1). That particular store's quite cool coz there were some times that I just gonna go there, look for new releases and you may listen to the CDs for free (and you may finish the entire album as long as you have the guts). Aside from the name change thing, there's also one time that they had to make the store a little smaller but what the store has to offer still never faded. They still delivered those cool gigs that I attended like (some from my fresh memory), the 2nd album launch of Kjwan, a full set gig from Bamboo, Mishka Adams (yes, there's one time that I listened to jazz) and this particular gig that I'm gonna featured. This another full set gig by Laguna-based band Typecast dated days before November 2006 (Oh, it's over 3 years ago) Some trivia: at this particular gig at that time, their album Every Moss and Cobweb was still a purely indie release and not yet distributed by a major label. It was a great set, you may see some emo kids from Laguna Bay side of Alabang

This is the opening track of the gig:

Bright Eyes

Then, one of my favorite tracks, In Blindness

A massive favorite, Another Minute until Ten

The last song, Don't Take me from Me

Until about later last year, I just saw the store's location renovated into a bookstore

The Brewrats Ep.445 Summary 10/29/2009 Sando Night Thursday

The Brewrats Ep.445 Summary 10/29/2009 Sando Night Thursday

Tado and Ramon started the Sando Night for that week with their 2nd time guest in the show Moymoy Palaboy and Roadfill. The duo shared on what's latest on them including their latest endorsement of Winrox bleach (which I'm the 1st caller to win a gift pack from them, thanks). The rats also asked some weird questions to them. Just some info, they both became from the province of Cebu. They even shared their movie marathon on watching Michael Jackson's This is It and 3d movie Astroboy in just one night. Angel came in late at before 8pm. Ramon invited Angel and Tado to challenge the tandem to a Pinoy Henyo game. Here's the recap:

1. Moymoy's team got the word Troy Montero
2. Tado didn't get the word Boy Abunda
3. Moymoy's team didn't get the word Papaya
4. Angel didn't get the word Kambing.
5. Moymoy's team didn't get the word Ipod

After that, Ramon decided to create a twist in the game as he wanted the rats to join Moymoy's team and guess the Henyo word within 5 minutes. The word's Tarzan but they failed to guess it. Last 45 minutes of the show, they accepted the calls of the brewsters to share their horror stories. The one that gave me an interest was Eljohn's personal experience with a ghost. Wow, I'm suprised that someone like him can also feel those spirits.

By the way as another way to thank Moymoy Palaboy for the gift pack, here's their latest commercial:

PLDT Watchpad: A Must Have for Internet Savvy People

My curiosity ran wild after I saw this TV commercial of PLDT Watchpad specially with that tagline "Watch, Chat, Blog, Share". What's more on this new and free service of PLDT MyDSL is that I can watch TV right on my PC while doing my usual stuff online all in just one window. Talking about comfort online, huh?

Few weeks ago, I'm lucky that I'm one of the people who had an opportunity to test run on this wonderful service. It was a blast for me as I'm in control of the laptop. There are many exciting things to expect on PLDT Watchpad. No need to turn on my TV or to subscribe to my local cable provider because there's a number of free and cable channels to watch live and online like GMA, MTV if I gonna be in the mood to watch music videos or to explore new things via National Geographic channel. This works for a heavy cyberspace multi-tasking guy like me coz while I'm enjoying to watch my favorite channels, I can also update my Friendster, Multiply, Facebook, Twitter or my own blog all in just one window. Aside from that, I can now watch those award-winning independent films right in the comfort of my PC. A perfect answer for me as I really want to catch these must-see movies but I don't have the luxury of time to go to moviehouses or to attend these "indie" film festivals. It's also loaded of exclusive contents which is only available on this great innovative service.

I highly recommend to grab this free service and register at www.pldtwatchpad.com together with your PLDT MyDSL internet connection. Everyone should have a PLDT Watchpad as your online companion because it delivers efficiency and a time-saver as you're having a good time on the worldwide web all in just one hub.

My Brewrats at Enchanted Kingdom experience

My Brewrats at Enchanted Kingdom experience

Past 3 pm when I'm already in Walter Mart Sta. Rosa, the nearest landmark to my destination Enchanted Kingdom when brewster Ciniul Steve texted me.My first plan was to go to the area as early as possible coz of my own live Brewrats @ EK coverage via Twitter. Before 3:30 pm, I Allan Zapanta and someother brewsters near the park's entrance. A clear sign that there are already some brewsters currently enjoying the rides inside. Few minutes later, Ciniul finally gave the entrance ticket to me. After I won the tickets at the very first day the Brewrats gave it away, I decided that I'll not going to the rides (exceptfor Rialto which I tried later that night) coz I want to focus more on sight-seeing. It's my first time to be in the area. I even remembered a time way back in my high school when my parents didn't allow me to go in a field trip which the said place was one of the stop-overs. (A little K.J. from them, he he!). It may alsodisrupt my "tweeting" and I also want to go to the arcade shop to play my favorite arcade fighting game (which they didn't have one when I checked it) that's why I don't want to go to the rides. More brewsters that I met when we we're already in the area as we're also chit-chatting. We are also waiting to the "rats" to arrive as they arrived at past 4pm. At first, I didn't approach them coz they were in a "shooting" mode for a future episode of TV5's show Front Act. After that, I'm suprised that DJ Angel (in her white Mango sando) came near to me to hand over a free meal stub (Wow! No need to spend some few pesos to the food court, thanks!). The rats and most of the brewsters got their 1st ride at Anchors Away (which I started my ninja mode!) as I headed to the arcade shop as well as the other "must-see" places. I consumed my meal stub before 5pm and got an unexpected 2nd meal stub, thanks to Lea-babes. Tado's family members decided to stop over in Sips Ahoy within the hour of 5 as soon as more brewsters after a few minutes. It was like a mini-gathering in that atmosphere. Finally, I got a chance to have a long conversation with blind brewster Eljohn after I first saw him way back November last year in Palistuhan rap challenge finals. By suprise, about computers and internet was our main topic. As most of the brewsters headed back to the rides after they ate, lucky that I'm still in the area with some brewsters as Angel went to our direction. Fast forward, we and Angel saw Ramon and another group of listeners ready to shoot another spiel for Front Act. The TV crew even had to go to a Take 3 coz Tado just appeared in the picture to join us in the scene. After that, the rats and us brewsters had another rest in front of Rio Grande rapids as Ramon led a little moment of silence for the late Ronald Labadlabad. We're waiting for the 7pm scheduled fireworks display that time as a food stall crew near us gave us a tip that the fireworks will be near the Space Shuttle. Of course, I gave back my "thank yous" to her. Quite bad that the anticipated event's kinda delayed so like a "follow the leader" mode, Ramon led us to the Eldar Tent to watch a free magic show and to the Rialto. After we watched the 3 participants of the fireworks display (which already started at past 8 pm), Ramon decided to go to the Wheel of Fate, the EK's version of the popular Ferris Wheel. Because of that, I went on a ninja mode once again as I even saw Ramon pointing his fingers to me while he's in the ride as I watched them sitting near the area. Past 9pm, we met Tado and his company near the gates to have our final picture taking for the night in a class picture fashion. Since after the Front Act shoot at past 6pm, I never saw Angel up to the time that we had to leave the area. Overall, it was one of the best Brewrats-related events that I joined.

Me at PLDT MyDSL Watchpad bloggers event at Magnet Hi St.

As you noticed my last Thursday's summary of the Brewrats was not that full packed. The reason: I attended my 2nd blogging event as I said in the title. I arrived at around 5:30 pm and I thought that I am already late for the event. Good thing, some of the crews at the said bar we're still fixing some things. It was a little O.P. for me coz most of the bloggers brought their own laptop and enjoy free PLDT MyDSL internet and to try their new service called Watchpad. Good thing, I met bloggers Jhong and Wentot for lending me some minutes of their laptops to personally experience the software. I tried to watch MTV Philippines while viewing my twitter account and it was as cool as a breeze. It was a free flowing of food, ice tea and a light beer. former San Beda courtside reporter Pia Boren took care of the hosting chores as The Johnnys anchored the special Rockeoke night for the event. To my suprise, Rhian Ramos appeared in the stage and sang With or Without You. It was a good version by her. I'm contented coz I got a paper bag full of goodies from PLDT like a baller ID that has a USB drive in it, a jacket, a DVD installer of Watchpad (which is not yet available commercially) and a cool automatic umbrella.

Days later, I just found out that Alodia Gosiengfiao was also in the event. See the proof at her deviantart site (Brewrats term: Wasak!). I didn't see her during that night.

Special thanks to sir Azrael Coladilla for allowing me to use some of his pics at the event

What If the Mall Pathways Are as Same as a Typical Tollway?

What If the Mall Pathways Are as Same as a Typical Tollway?

Most of the time, I'm a fast walker but it doesn't mean that I'm always in a hurry. Feels like it's al eady natural to me and mall is one of my favorite hangouts. As expected, you'll expect different kinds of people whether he/she in a "solo flight" mode, with his/her special someone or with his/her family or group of friends. For years that already learned the art of malling, there are some little things that I want to imagine something like if there's a slow and fast lane in the mall's pathways. I'm thinking about this specially when I encounter two persons (basically,a male and a female) and you'll know that they're in a relationship because they're in HHWW mode. For sure they know that its not a park to walk in slo-mo which you may combine some of them, the result is a human traffic. They even stretching their arms in each other which in some point, you'll have less chances to overtake them and it reallh happened to me for a lot of times specially in known malls. It's ok to me if they're like our senior citizens, someone who carries a heavy load or a parent (or parents) who have to walk slow in order to keep their kids on their safety. For sure, you already experienced this. Hope those "swethearts" who sometimes do this (either by accident or what's worse, intentionally) will think twice after they read this blog post.
Another self centered message for me in a blog by a brewster

Another self centered message for me in a blog by a brewster

Yah, another brewster just opened her own blog which is also quite a known brewster named as Ineng Buang. We had some exchange of infos about blogging including on what I taught on her about the "Followers" thing. Just check http://inengbuang-panext.blogspot.com/
Exclusive: Ever wonder, text message failed when you send a text at U92 textline

Exclusive: Ever wonder, text message failed when you send a text at U92 textline

When the phone's busy in our house and I'm tuning in to U92 (92.3 fm), I have two ways to communicate, thru twitter or thru their "unique" textline which is 6323590892. Like some of my fellow brewsters, some are confused, some are complaining (esp. during the Brewrats) that they can't send their text messages on-air. To end this mystery, here it goes:

Earlier this afternoon during DJ Eri Neeman's shift (10am-2pm), I called the U92 hotline and I already had a theory on the mystery, all I need to do is gather some info. A girl answered my call and straight to the point, I asked her on what's the telco behind their textline and she answered it's a Smart number. It's a Smart landline which they can also receive text messages. I even asked her if there's a Smart logo embedded in their handset and she said yes. Oh, gotcha! The answer (and she also confirmed it), that they can only receive text messages from a Smart mobile number (I'm not quite sure on the TNT subscribers). So if you're a Globe subscriber (just like one of my numbers) , sorry you really can't send a text message to them no matter how strong or weak is your signal. I even advised them to please tell to all the listeners (and the brewsters) about this thing. Hopefully, they will respond on this.

So that's it, mystery's solved!
Manila FM stations stepped up last Saturday during typhoon Ondoy

Manila FM stations stepped up last Saturday during typhoon Ondoy

September 26, 2009, it was about 1:40pm when we experienced power outage as I am watching Eat Bulaga during that time. Because of that, I have to tune in to my radio to kill the boredom. I already expecting that there will be a brownout soon (but in our area, we never experienced floods or strong winds). I am in channel surfing mode when my curiosity ran over thru that afternoon radio show on 97.1 Barangay LS entitled "Talk to Papa". Good to know that instead of having a normal run of their show, they used their time to announce some Ondoy-related updates. After that at around past 4pm, Gang Badoy of Rocked Radio and some DJs came in the Jam 88.3 booth to put a program dedicated to announce some Ondoy updates coz most of us have radio in our cellphones but we don't have AM radio. It ran about 16 hours during that first try. As of now, they still running that program but it evolved into "Jam Central" which airs everyday at midnight on that said radio station. Sept. 28, other radio stations followed as they also announcing some news while they are in their regular programming.

I'll post my own story on typhoon Ondoy soon.

Yah, another brewster just opened her own blog which is also quite a known brewster named as Ineng Buang. We had some exchange of infos about blogging including on what I taught on her about the "Followers" thing. Just check http://inengbuang-panext.blogspot.com/

Exclusive: Ever wonder, text message failed when you send a text at U92 textline
