My recent MvC2 gaming experience: I surrendered with a cause

I had my last gameplay in an arcade in Metro Manila. The arcade stick s not functioning well. I want to feel more of that stick when I was in stage 5,a guy challenged. At first, I won over his Magneto-led team. The 2nd became a nightmare to me as I faced a runaway Cable/Dr. Doom duo. In that kind of cheap gameplay, you want to be near your opponent as much as possible to control that insanity. Good thing, I just lost by a 1 or 2 pixels on the life bar as the time expired. Of course, I wanna fight again if the arcade stick s a-ok.

Brewrats-themed textline in July 28-30 shift of DJ Koji Morales

After that suprise tribute night for the Brewrats last Monday (July 27), DJ Koji Morales somehow continued that tribute by asking the brewsters on anything Brewrats thru the RT textline. From his usual 12mn-3am shift, he moved to the timeslot that the 3 rats left. Never got much attention to hear much or text in July 28-29 (Tuesday and Wednesday) but I knew that some brewsters still texting their memories on the show. Last few minutes of Thursday (actually last night), DJ Koji had 2 Brewrats-related topics, 1 of those looks familiar on what s on my poll right now (hopefully, it was only a coincidence). What s the best part, after he played his last song on his shift Say by John Mayer, if the brewsters were listened carefully, he said something to look forward for the Brewrats :)

MMS 8th year in the Philippines

I remembered that particular month & year, July 2001, I was in G4 cinema when I saw in a print ad that a mobile telco company will launch a new service called Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS). I went down to the Activity Center and brought my curiosity juices up. They had some Nokia 7650s (I'm not sure that there's already a Nokia 3650 that time) around the area for those who wanna try the new service. They even had a game where they had to go to some shops, take a picture using the phone & send an MMS message. They also had a trial on which you may see the traffic situation around the metro via video straight to your phone.

Wow! Time flies so fast! That year, our camera phone's got only powered by a VGA cam, today we have 3G & I even saw a 12 MP camera phone somewhere in Singapore.

Wow! QTV's show Qtube is following me!

My observation on the 1st weekday without the Brewrats

I woke up around 7am to tune in to DJ Tina Ryan s morning show. As I expected, Tina had a hint. She said that there s gonna be some changes starting next week. In the Sam & Gibb show, one brewster called & asked if the Brewrats was suspended. Minutes later, brewster Elmar had his own brand of clue. He said (in Tagalog language) that we will never sleep at midnight again. In the Brewrats Facebook wall, I checked the messages all the way from last Friday & its quite like a circus. Most brewsters thought that it was the end of the show while I some posted a link of a clue in a social networking site.

To cap this one up, remember what DJ Angel said, if there s a closed door, there will be some windows of opportunities.

I got the sad news from some of the celebrities that I follow on Twitter as I also got a confirmation from some night news programs. I m quite lucky that at least I saw her play the guitar in her band Saffron Speedway. Most of first quarter of 2007 when I wanna watch some gig, I usually go to Magnet Katips and their one of the usual bands there. (Thanks to that Campusitition night where they feature mostly ADMU and other college bands). For sure that I might catch more of the band s sound if she may avoided that robbery incident (If I m not wrong, it happened in a jeepney). After I got the news, I checked out the band s multiply site and some of their performances on Youtube.

For sure, fans of the band will gonna miss Tara.

That Brewrats tribute last night.

Unexpected, Static Interferance still had the show at 6pm last night (compared to what DJ Robbie said to me over the phone last Friday that it will be at 9pm by this week). Also quite suprised that around 9pm, DJ Robbie the Rascal had some imitating Tado s voice as the start of the Brewrats tribute night with the help of DJ Koji Morales. They invited the brewsters to share their fav episodes or some show-related trivia either thru the textline or the phone lines. At past 10pm, DJ Robbie had his signoff as DJ Koji did the rest til the midnight. Quite bad that they didn t read my text message. I wonder if there s another tribute night later.

A message of concern to all the brewsters about the latest Brewrats news

Before it gets worse, if you already knew the news, please please don t talk about it thru the phone on-air in any RT show. You may talk about it thru the Brewrats Facebook page (nothing else!). I decided to blog on this coz of my own concern over some Brewrats listeners (most of the time during The Sam and Gibb show) are calling on some Brewrats-related inquiry (like if the show s suspended or when they gonna be back, etc.). The latest was I heard a brewster called during The Sam and Gibb show about that said inquiry. Better to wait for a new radio plug (hope they may have a new one).

Ok, brewsters? Please, please be patient for the whole week!

Stripes of red,white,green and yellow in our area

Just this last weekend, those colors really caught my attention specially in the streets.

First, the stripes of red, white and green. That colors are reminding about the 95th anniversary of Iglesia ni Cristo (Church of Christ). That special day is actually today. Happy 95th anniversary to all of its members worldwide.

Second, I thought that those yellow ribbons can only be seen in Makati but the message within also already reached our city. The message to pray to the recovery and for the good health of our former President Corazon Aquino. Those yellow laces in our city were tied mostly in lamp and Meralco posts.

Sugarfree's new album "Mornings and Airports" out today

As the album entitled Mornings & Airports, guitarist & vocalist Ebe Dancel revealed the release date just last week. Expect to encounter English songs in the album which Hay Buhay as their first single. The album was recorded in Shinji Tanaka s studio. That particular studio also recorded some latest albums from Sandwich, Pedicab and Zach Lucero. Also, watch out for the band s major concert this August with Manila Symphony Orchestra.

After they had their latest single Nyctophobia that came in last last Wednesday (July 15) at Pinoy Rock Fix segment Daily Demo Delivery, the radio station got big demand for that song request. Last night after it was played, the host of the show DJ Billy B. finally decided to put the song into the regular playlist. That means you may now request for the any time of day. It's confirmed: Static Interferance will replace the Brewrats timeslot

Last night, I m tuning in to DJs Robbie the Rascal and Papa Don of Static Interferance radio show (of course on 99.5 RT). Papa Don wasn t there that night so I had a inquiry to DJ Robbie. He said yes, starting on Monday (July 27), Static Interferance will be from 9pm-12mn (1300-1600 GMT). I m not sure if they gonna be from Monday-Thursday (from their usual sked of Monday-Friday). Nice to know that news. Of course, just like the other brewsters, we are still hoping for THAT comeback (as I saw some clues or unconfirmed rumors over the world wide web) Nope, it never came from the 3 rats or not in the Brewrats Facebook. Hope that they (the 3 rats) will have an official statement thru the show s FB account.

It's not just the Brewrats in my blog/Waiting for the next move

To those who are new into my blog and just heard it days ago (Wow! I had a historic week at the show, I called every single day this week), first thank you for the time reading my blog but I have something to tell. Don't be suprised if this site is not pure Brewrats info. The website name itself is the answer (as well as my site header)

Now that the show s gone, hope that DJ Robbie the Rascal (or the entire Static Interferance radio show) will fill in the 9pm-12mn timeslot of RT. I am already used (& loved) the way that show is running. Of course, I m still hoping for a comeback, in any form or media.
