Strangebrew DVD now also available at Lokalidad booth + a response to those who are wondering

Are you a brewster or listener of the Brewrats from South Metro or Mega Manila and you re not that available to Limitado to buy Strangebrew DVD? Worry no more coz I just discovered that it is already available at Lokalidad shop. It has still contains 14 episodes but it is already had a different cover. Lokalidad booth is in the 4th floor of Festival Supermall, Alabang, Muntinlupa City (near Jolibee)

Ever wonder why most of my blog entries doesn t have a single picture (as also asked by a brewster last Thursday) Answer: As of this moment, I am inspired by those old school tabloids. What s important is the content itself. You may see some of my previous exclusive Brewrats-related blogs that you may never see everywhere else.

The Brewrats: I am still figuring it out...

....if our beloved radio will be gone for good or soon in a leave? Last night, they said for a lot of times that they are not boarding by next week coz they need some rest. Well, to those who didn t tune in last night, Tado said that they gonna post a message on the Brewrats Facebook page wall regarding on the status of the show but he didn t tell any particular day on when that statement will come out so be updated. If there s a ray of hope that might be an instrumental one, Tado also clarified that the Brewrats Idol Awards will continue as well as the Brewster Jam on July 25.

Now that the Brewrats republic might/will be gone, how I wish there s such like a Caretaker government...

So don t forget to tune in later at 9pm (1300 GMT worldwide). Let s all find out.

As he performing some of the songs from his debut solo album Full Crash Infect live from the RJUR studios. Currently, his 3rd single entitled Matina Town Square (featuring Sarah Marco of Taken by Cars also on vocals) is getting some good radio airplay. Is this the end of the Brewrats (an intro + questions)

If you were not tuning in last night, DJs Tado, Ramon Bautista & Angel are hinting (or maybe they really want to say) that the Brewrats will have its last episode. I am still hoping that they moved to another timeslot (or another radio station). As I called that night, I didnt have the chance to express these thoughts (which you may see here) coz its just mins. to midnight. Here s some of my questions

1. What will happen to that Brewrats Idol awards?
2. Who s gonna be the Brewster of the Year for 2008?

I may add up some questions in my future blog posts. I m wondering in the next few months on the situation of most Brewrats-related sites. If its gonna happen, I feel the sayang factor on growing Brewrats listeners worldwide. Expect related blog posts of this in the next few days.

Partial total solar eclipse in the Philippines July 22

This would be the longest total solar eclipse in this century. It will be around in the Philippines around 8-11AM at around 49% visible. Countries like India, Bangladesh, Nepal, China and Japan will have the full total astronomical phenomenon.

Hope that there s no typhoon or any rainfalls that will spoil this event for us Filipinos.

The 5th Cinemalaya Indie Film Festival opens today

Again, we will see another great batch of short and independent (indie) films as the 5th Cinemalaya opens today.

The film festival will run until July 26. Looks like this would gonna be bigger from the featured indie films. If you re watching more TV5 these days, you may see a Cinemalaya TV ad featuring Anne Curtis portraying different jobs / occupations that we usually see in public places. The message of that ad is you may promote your film just by word of mouth.

Happy 2nd Birthday, RJ Underground Radio 105.9 FM

Established July 15, 2007, this radio station became an alternative or a new venue to rock & alternative music whether its from a foreign or local artist. The station is unique coz every cluster of songs that they play consist of 1 classic, 1 modern & 1 local rock.

I just discovered around December 2007 while channel surfing of my radio thru mobile phone. Before RJUR, the frequency of 105.9 was in that former radio station, Blazin 105.9 (which caters most of hip-hop & R and B in their playlist). That time I had my first taste of RJUR, they had no DJs yet and I also remembered that their only commercial was Rakista.com. Months passed by, the station had already a structure & there were DJs and radio shows and they still (rock &) rolling.

Again, happy birthday and more power to RJUR!

Expect longer expiration period in your prepaid cellphone load by Sunday

As the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) made the directive final but they had one announcement. Those prepaid cellphone load/s that you will buy/bought before July 19 (and in the case that in July 19,you still have that load), it will not be included to the new and longer expiry period. Hope that the 5 or 6 mobile communication brands (from the 3 telcos) will implement this.

Inviting all musiciands & bands, OPEN JAM July 17 (Friday) at Magnet Katipunan

Of course, veteran artists, managers, production heads & music lovers are welcome. The rules:
1. 1st come, 1st serve. Musicians/bands can sign up thru Rogel at the bar by 8pm. Sign-up ends at 9:30pm sharp.
2. All musicians/bands & guests will be charged P75 with 1 consummable beverage.
3. There will be a list of songs that each band/musician is required to include in their set. You may post your song request at Magnet Cafe Katipunan Facebook group s discussion board.

The cafe provides 1 50hz & 5hz guitar amp, 1 50hz bass amp, 2 mics & basic drum kit w/o crash stand & cymbal. The cafe closes at 1am sharp. The length of sets depend that will allot per band/musician.

Kjwan's 13 Seconds to Love out this month

After they released the singles Lifeline and 13 Seconds to Love, this month the latest album from Kjwan will now be available in record stores as the their guitarist Boogie Romero said in the band s mailing list. Hope this will be as good as their sophomore release 2 Step Marv.

Meanwhile, Join the Club is back with a new EP. I read thru facebook that they have album launch at some bars. I'll give you updates on that. The title of the EP was Gerista.

Jimmy Bondoc admired DJs Tado & Ramon Bautista in Sabado Boys radio show

Just this morning as I listened to their show, as one of the Sabado Boys, Jimmy Bondoc (who s also one of the hosts) saluted 2 of the Brewrats crew DJs Tado and Ramon Bautista for running such a great and funny show.

According to Jimmy, his one of the favorite scenarios or words in the show is Laking Aircon specially when Tado accepted a call in the program with a girl with that laking aircon qualities based on her voice. Jimmy added that he liked the unique intelligence that the 2 DJs deliver in the show.

Wow! I saw a brewster just minutes ago in Eat Bulaga

No, its not Ms. Pia Guanio (who is a known listener of the Brewrats). I saw the guy in a segment where he is one of the show s millionaire as they launched a new raffle promo. I m thinking if a brewster might tell this sighting by next week if there s banging of the phone or thru the RT textline. Its even more convincing coz he had a name tag attached in the shirt.

CLUE: He s a known brewster from a known brewster group.

You're the 1, Goldilocks

Since when I was a kid in the 90s, me and our family love the goodness of Goldilocks products whether its an ordinary day or any special occasion.

You're the 1, Goldilocks because of the delicious breads and cakes that you have in any branch in the metro. As a small family, we always have Goldilocks cake rolls on our table for almost every family member's birthday. My eldest sister loves the Ube and Mocha cake rolls while my no.1 pick is the Chocolate cake roll. When there is pancit, its nice to partner it with either Ube or the Original puto with cheese which are really full-packed as you may feel it in your mouth and in your tummy. When it's snacktime and I'm in a mall, I'll love to eat either that soft and cheesy Ensaymada or that moist Chocolate Cake slice which are really value in your money. When it's mealtime,those noodle-based meals and sumptuous viands are usually in my list specially the Nilagang Baka.

Another reason why you're the 1 to me because of the vast availability of your branches in Mega Manila. When I'm out of the workplace or in the house, it's almost no sweat to find a Goldilocks store if I'm craving for breads which I have the option to eat it on the go.

Overall, you're the 1 reason for putting more meaning and smiles to me, our family, and the rest of the people either in our special day or just a normal, typical day.
