SKK Mobile Kraken officially available, sale price at P7999 at selected branches

Remember my guess that SKK Mobile Kraken might have a new and lower price in my previous post? Looks like I got it again this time.

A few days ago in this blog, I asked the mod of SKK Mobile Facebook page on updates on their 1st Android octa-core Kraken. Few days later, they posted a new picture which is a new teaser

Cherry Mobile, MyPhone, Starmobile, THL and Zopo already gave their prices for their currently available and upcoming octa-core Androids in the country but how about SKK Mobile?

SKK Mobile unleashed their first octa-core powered phone Kraken weeks before the Holy Week but most of the people who saw that Facebook page post scratched their heads on the price as it was not indicated.

So I had to ask the mod behind the SKK Mobile FB page last Monday and here’s their answer to me based on this screenshot

Based on the specs that SKK Mobile Kraken that was already posted, I guess that it will not exceed at P12,000. I hope that the people from SKK Mobile will release this device soon as the clash of the octa-cores already beginning to a tough battle here in the country

SKK Mobile Kraken: the brand’s first true octa core Android phone, specs

The wait is over for us and for those who waited to the announcement of local mobile phone player SKK Mobile’s first true octa core Android device

A few hours ago in their Facebook page, they announced the SKK Mobile Kraken



Specs:

1.7 Ghz Octacore processor
Android 4.2.1 Jelly bean
5 inch IPS 854 x 480 (FWVGA) LCD display
8 MP rear camera with flash, 5 MP front camera
8 GB (or 4 GB ROM?) / 1 GB RAM
Dual sim/dual standby
WiFi/3G/Bluetooth/GPS
Expandable up to 32 GB via micro sd

Did you notice the specs and the picture, it’s a bit confusing that they said that it has 8 GB ROM but look at the lower right portion that it said it has 4 GB internal memory or ROM. We hope that will really come up soon as 8 GB ROM. More questions came in our mind like if it has auto-focus and BSI sensor for either one or 2 of the cameras, the battery and the size of sim card slots and if both has 3g connectivity as well as the USB OTG support. We have a guess that this has Mediatek 6592 1.7 Ghz octacore chipset inside.

Unfortunately, no info on the price and release date that was posted on their latest FB page status post. Based on the specs, we hope that it will be lower than the most affordable octa core Android phone so far which is the Cherry Mobile Cosmos Z2 priced at P12,990
