A lot of twists happened in Day 3 of MWI 2025 which a total of 8 squads had to say bye bye to the tournament
First, Gaimin Gladiators (which MPL PH talent Midnight was one of the coaches) swept the roster of the defending MWI champs of NaVi PH in a 2-0 fashion. Game 1 was a surprise, dominating W for GG but Game 2, Navi PH had the control in the early and mid game but the second lord kill by the NA-based squad started the doom for the PH-based team towards the late game.
On the post match interviews, NaVi PH coach KingSalman still chose to have Guinevere over Gatotkaca which has a counter in Game 1 as one of the factors in their loss. On Not Ayanami's side, she thinks that not everybody is paying attention on how crucial will be on that series (as it is on single elimination format)
As one PH-based org remaining, Team Liquid PH did an easy win over Twisted Minds. Zaishii was the leader in Game 1 while on Game 2, another record KDA was set by their goldlaner CLA using Granger at 16/1/5.
On the post match interview when TLPH coach Moody asked for his comments on NaVi PH's performance earlier, he thinks it was a comms issue.
In the first half of the day - Dreammax, Virtus Pro, Navi MY and Team Falcons lost in their respective matches. Day 3 earlier also set a number of MWI records. First 30 plus minutes of game (over 32 minutes in their Game 1 vs. Team Falcons which we never saw a 30 plus minute in the whole S15 of MPL PH and MPL ID) and a rare 2x savage by TWIS goldlaner Lunar in Game 2 of the same series.
The semifinals pairings will be Gaimin Gladiators vs Terror Queens, Vitality vs TLPH. Semis will be BO5 and it will start at 5 pm and 8:30 pm (Manila time)
