Another triple header Saturday happened earlier in MPL Philippines S15 for Week 7 and all of the winners had sort-of birthday buff.
First off, K1ingkong and the rest of Onic Philippines avenged their first round loss versus Team Liquid PH - a series that we were not surprised to be stretched until Game 3. Quite coincidentally, Super Frince got two MVP honors in Games 1 and 3 that they won with a debut pick of Valir, one of the emergiing heroes that came back from the newest patch.
From the post game interview (even though that their win solidified their chances for an upper bracket shot), Coach Ynot is not expecting that much about that as it will still be depends on the future of other teams in the said hunt (RORA, TLPH and FLCN). The Sonics improved to 8-3 record while TLPH slipped to 10-2, still within the upper bracket as of this time.
Next, Coach MTB and the rest of Aurora Gaming looked like no rust from their 2-week break as they got a quick 2-0 series win over Smart Omega. Edward was the one who brought in some pocket picks for Game 1 (Esmeralda) and Game 2 (Arlott). Renejay got another Game 2 MVP thru 2/1/8 using Chou. When I asked about it on Edward, he thinks that Arlott was ok with the emerging utility jungle for added damage and to combat those long range mages like Yve.
The first series, Hadjizy and the rest of Twisted Minds proved their cohesiveness advantage for 2-0 series win against AP Bren as Coach Bon Chan started those pocket picks like Valir in the midlane. TWIS now has the edge to occupy the sixth playoffs slot after the regular season.
Two games to close out MPL Philippines S15 Week 7 happening later at 5 pm
