Magic Chess: Go Go APAC Launch Set This Feb. 21

MOONTON Games earlier announced that Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG) will hold its "APAC Grand Launch" on 21 February.

The launch will see the free-to-play multiplayer strategy game available for download in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand on iOS and Android. The brand new auto battler had previously soft-launched in Malaysia and Singapore on 29 November 2024.

MCGG is created by the original team from MOONTON Games' star game, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). Set in MLBB's beloved universe, MCGG transforms players into master strategists, commanding familiar MLBB Heroes ‒ such as Layla, Nana, and Chou ‒ to create their ultimate forces. Each Chessboard will see eight players simultaneously engage in Player versus Player (PvP) combat. Each player will compete individually, testing their real-time decision-making and strategies through multiple rounds to become the last strategist standing.

MCGG has surpassed 15 million pre-registrations to date, solidifying its status as one of the most highly anticipated mobile game titles of 2025.

Gao "Skyhook" Chong, MCGG Producer at MOONTON Games, said: "In MLBB lore, MCGG exists as a widely popular game in the Land of Dawn. Created by a "mysterious game designer", MCGG's Commanders, Go Go Cards, and Synergies are based on the heroes, legends, and stories circulating in the continent. With the APAC Grand Launch, we are taking this concept out into the real world—offering gamers a fresh competitive field to enjoy the rich and immersive world of MLBB."

Season 1 "Rising Dawn"

Season 1 of MCGG—named "Rising Dawn"—will offer players a host of free and exclusive rewards. Players can receive 14 Commanders (1-Star), the "Ruins of Fall" Chessboard Skin, and skins—such as the "Plasma Gunner" Commander Layla Skin—for FREE simply by playing MCGG. MLBB players can also claim the free X.Borg "Pecados Rioter" skin in MLBB by linking their accounts and completing missions in MCGG.

Each MCGG season will feature new gameplay mechanics to keep gameplay fresh. MCGG's inaugural season will feature a seasonal Two-Player Mode, which will go live in March. The mode will require players to pair up and battle against other duos. Teamwork is more crucial than ever ‒ each player in a duo can send one 1-star hero to their partner for additional support during the match. The team's overall standing will also be determined by the higher-ranked player in the duo.

Each season will also introduce MLBB Heroes into the MCGG battlefield as Commanders. Season 1 sees the MCGG debut of fan-favourite Miya; the Moonlight Archer was the first Hero launched in MLBB.
