It took us a while to get it but worth it. Our verdict on the official commercial unit of HONOR X7c
First, the unboxing or unpacking of official commercial unit of HONOR X7c from out photos below.
HONOR Philippines was quite generous to put in the 8 GB/256 version of this phone together with Snapdragon 685 SoC and Magic OS 8 based on Android 14. Coming from HONOR X8b, no doubt that this device is slower but Snapdragon 685 is a bit better compared to Snapdragon 680 that we are still able to navigate this custom OS just right especially the 90 Hz refresh rate in it's display.
Connectivity was a-ok from calls, texts, Bluetooth and WiFi. A bit surprising that it's GPS was quite accurate too based on our constant checking in our Google Maps, a rare device for it's asking price compared to the previous phones in the budget segment.
On battery, it's 6,000 mAh inside powered this device for us for average of 2 days as we can only have this for moderate usage plus we can onlu go until LTE for mobile data. Charging it with it's 35 watt charger can go 100% in less than 90 minutes
On camera, it has the same features that you already saw in the likes of X9a, X9b and X8b but other than using the main shooter, expect that there will be an over a second in image processing. We experienced it mostly in HDR, AI mode or even just adjusting its exposure when shooting in a very bright environment. Selfies are only good for social media
In extras, the audio is expected to be a bit bad either in the speaker or thru our Bluetooth audio device.
Here are the camera samples:
When we saw HONOR X8c in it's PH launch, we said that it can be a very good phone for those motor taxi drivers with it's water and drop resistance, 6,000 mAh battery, enough RAM and storage and UI which leads to to the phone's strengths except that in some cases that 5G connectivity is a must for some places with dense people. Camera is a hit or miss and speakers as expected as not as good as to X8b. Connectivity is quite good for us.
HONOR X7c is selling in the Philippines for Php 8999 and we are giving it at 3.75 out of 5.
