As one of the leading cities in Batangas province especially during the lockdown period, we are wondering that time that there's no coworking space yet as for sure, there are some freelancers out there. Fast forward to just a few days ago, we managed to check out the opening week of the newest coworking space in the city,. The Playground PH.
Built by a few pros, they managed to put in the only second coworking space in the area as to fill in the need for a new area to meet up, to collaborate or maybe you are a freelancer and you just want to get out a bit of your home workstation for a change.
In time in the city's almost two-week long fiesta, we took the chance of their 30% off on their shared desk rate (4 hours for Php 300 which came down to Php 210). The pro is you can book a slot online on their website theplaygroundph.co and they have a wider operating hours from 8 am to 12 mn on weekdays and 8 am to 12nn on Saturdays. Only thing of concern for us was the available slots from 8 am to 12 nn, 12 nn to 4 pm, 4 pm to 8 pm and 8 pm to 12 mn which you may think of what if I arrived at 2 ort 6 pm , you are stuck in between those time slots. They are currently working on that as well for the possible whole day rates. Except for their collaborative area (the one nearest to their pantry area), 8 out of 12 slots have access to power outlets but better to bring those handy universal socket adapters in case that your laptop has a 3-prong charger. So far, you can only connect thru their internet only on WiFi. No LAN port/s in there but their connection was stable. Surprising that we were interested in the area? Their tables and furnitures were bought from Ikea in MOA. (in case you are planning to buy one).
The place also offers conference room and their sort-of "creators room" which is also their response with the rise of content creators and can also cater to do a podcast as they already have the equipment there bur feel free to bring in your extra microphones. One challenge to them that I would love to see/hear their response, the power utility in Lipa which is Batelec which is a bit slow to recover in brownouts and more prone to sudden power interruptions compared to Sto. Tomas City which has 100% powered by Meralco

Note that The Playground PH when I worked and visited (I wrote my review for HONOR X9b in here aside from uploading and editing a number of videos for my Youtube channel) there, it was on soft opening mode but no worries for me so far. The pantry serves unli coffee, tea and water and soon they will be serving Pule, a Tanauan City-based beer. You can also feel free to bring your own food as long as you do the CLAYGO mode and based on my check on the area, better to eat it inside the pantry area. Overall, I had a great time on my over 3 hours of stay, chill and work there.
The Playground PH is located at the 3rd floor of RDC Building in Lipa City. Just look for the one with Abenson at the first floor and you got it. They're on the the third floor and good to know, it is in front of Shell beside Lipa Medix which Jayzar Recinto's First Bite Sisig is located.
