It took us a while. Finally, we can drop in our verdict to still the latest in Honor Philippines in the X series, Honor X8a
You can check our first look in this video below:
Inside the phone has Magic UI based on Android 12 with Helio G88 SoC, 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. Going deeper, we are expecting a bit higher than the entry level phones in 2023 standards and we were right about it. Coming from the bit stronger X9a, we can only put up to those heavy social media browsing and will take that mich time on video rendering.
Connectivity had no problems for us for the exception that it only has LTE mobile connection. Yes., the phone has VoLTE for those who are asking. Calls, texts, mobile data, Bluetooth, GPS and WiFi were a-ok on us
On the storage, the device gave us over 111 GB of remaining space for media files and additional apps.
As the phone has peformance mode and so the tale of having two different Antutu scores ranging to 223,792 up to 229543. The phone has 7 out of 9 working sensors
On cameras, the buzz were true that photos were very good for it's asking price as well as the processor's choice from various lighting that we threw in. Less camera optons though to play compared to X9a. Videos were a bit of a letdown when on walking scenes as well as to low light situations. The audio pick up was goofd enough.
Honor X8a rear camera samples
Honor X8s price in the Philippines is Php 10990 which is fair enough compared to the likes on what we saw on the phones nowadays of Redmi. Software, physical looks, display, connectivity and good enough camera on phothos were the strongest points of this device.. Video capture can be a hit or miss. The lack of micro SD expansion is the biggest issue for us as it only has 128 GB storage and thr question if this will have an important Android 13 OS update
Honor X8a for is is 3.75 out of 5
