It took us over four years that Samsung Philippines gave us a chance to review a flagship device since the Galaxy S9+ so it was fun for us to bring some verdict in our first Android foldable device with Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 which is is already at it's fourth generation

The device has One UI 4.1.1 based on Android 12. Aside that we knew that it's folded display is a lot better than it's previous models, having a Snapdragon processor (8 Gen 1+ to be exact) gave us the excitement for the performance and it delivered. We only had it's base model of 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage but it flys from various multi tasking that we did from taking notes down to heavy video editing and rendering.. With the folded feature, the phone adapts especially on Youtube and MX Player. From all of our go-to apps that we usually have, we had no problems on it. When folded, the cover screen worked fine for us especially for SMS, Facebook and Messenger notifications. I also love that the volume rocker worked differently when it is on folded mode.
On connectivity, it was better in almost all aspects from WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, calls and texts compared to my main driver which is an almost high end device from year 2020. It just a bit could have bit better in terms of mobile data. A bit of a downer for us that it only has a single sim (not sure if the PH model has a 1 nano sim, 1 eSIM combo) so we had to bring 2 phones when I out for some media coverages.
On benchmarks, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 scored at over 747,000 (light mode) and over 893,000 (standard mode) on Antutu. It has 7 out of 9 working sensors.
On camera, at first that it was a challenge for us to figure out on how to use the cover screen so that we can also use the main camera for selfies until that you have to activate it in the settings option. We got the chance to compare the defualt 10 MP main cam of Galaxy S22 Ultra and 12 MP primary Galaxy Z Flip4 and we noticed that the flip phone had a bit more on details compared to the Ultra phone.
The flip phone can shoot up to 4K 60 fps on both rear and front cameras. Shooting options range from default sizes and even as wide as 22:9 ratio. Super slomo and director's view were my fave options as it brought down new horizons on how to bring stories or scenes in a video. Coz it's a foldable phone, I love that I shoot videos on it on like an old school Sony Handycam mode for additional grip

The base model of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 is Php 58,990 which is more reasonable this time compared for Flip1 and to the current 2022 flagship phones in the Philippines, if the Fold4 is too much on your budget or you want something different in a flagship phone. Some might be a bit concerned for 3,700 mAh battery for us, it was enough. The 25 watt wired charging is a-ok as you have to consider that it has a foldable phone. How I wish that Samsung Philippines had a true physical dual sim version of it. One major downer for us is a bit on mobile data reception and it is very choosy on some USB-C periphrerals especially on USB-C earphones (but good thing, it supported our affordable, third party USB-C wireless lavalier). Display, the rest in connectivity, cameras, UI, extra features and processor were the keypoints of this awesome foldable phone.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 for us is 4.5 out of 5.
