Here is our first look from the device thru our video below:
With the latest OneUI 4.1 based on Android 12 (even though it has that late 2020 processor in Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G) , it was a breeze for us for multi tasking navigation with it's 6 GB RAM. The pulldown menu was a refreshed take compared to other phones that we tried especially the brightness bar.
On connectivity, it was a-ok in almost all aspects from WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth except that big thing on mobile connectivity. Even that we inserted two sims from different and our previous workstation at the third floor and various APN settings that we tried, it was difficult for us to get calls and mobile data.
On battery, Galaxy M23 5G survived on 27 hours and 10 minutes with it's 5,000 mAh battery with 6.6 inch FJD+ LCD display. As the brand did not provide us it's official supported charger (checked one of international unboxings and found that there's no charger inside the package), we have no choice but to put in our 3rd party charger which can go up to 40 watts. Good thing that the phone displays it's possible time to fully charge it. It can go from 0 to 100% in around 105 minutes. The device supports 25 watts charging. Using it almost 100% on WiFi only (yes, it had poor mobile data signal) , the phone survived for us in 1.25 days.
On camera, Galaxy M23 has the triple main cameras composed of 50 MP primary, 8 MP ultra wide and 2 MP macro plus 8 MP selfie shooter. Both on 12.5 MP and 50 MP mode were more than enough on our liking in terms of photo quality and color accuracy. Just do not use it on from 5x zoom and beyond. Ultrawide shots were very good too. We do not like that much on macro shots.

On pros, we love it's sleekiness and the design, almost ALL on connectivity, UI, choice of processor, camera and battery life
On issues, it was a-ok for us that there might be some flagship phones that will not have an official charger but I hope Samsung will stop for now on doing it too on high midrange phones like Galaxy M23 5G. Not sure if on the possible system update fix (the latest update of the device that we borrowed was last January 2022) will fix on what we encountered on the poor mobile data signal. Coz of that inconvenience, we were forced to review the phone more on inside our nearby our workstation to get more on the WiFi signal.
For us, Samsung Galaxy M23 5G is 3.5 out of. Official price of Samsung Galaxy M23 5G in the Philippines is Php 17,990 but as of writing, Samsung PH official online store on their website sells it at Php 500 less and there's even a legit tech store with LazMall badge that has a Php 15,335 price tag.
