Up with a new naming scheme, Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 earlier this morning, Manila time.
The chip has three cluster design based on ARMv9. The primer core, Cortex-X2 has 3.0 GHz plus three Cortex-A710 performance cores at 2.5 Hz and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores running at 1.8 GHz.
They promised that it will be 20% faster and 30% more power efficient than Snapdragon 888.
It also has Aredno Frame Motion Engine which the GPU can render a game at 2x frame rate with the same amount of power. It has X65 5G modem inside which can go for both sub-6 and mmWave and go at peak speeds of 10 Gbps plus WiFi 6 and 6E
Profiled for high-end smartphones, expect Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 to power those devices at early 2022 like the recently revealed realme GT 2 Pro
