realme Band 2 Unboxing, Review Philippines
It's second gen realme wearable just landed in and we got the latest - realme Band 2 for our verdict.
You can check as we unpacked and we did some first look by watching it below:
The main concern for us (especially coming from another wearable with AMOLED display) is their choice of 1.4 inch LCD display but good thing with 500 nits brightness, it was a-ok for us on outside when at daytime. There are obviously some bezels but not nasty at all. The straps are comfortable and does not stain that much when we do some washing with various detergents and soaps. We liked the charging cradle of realme Band 2 as it has that dock design (unlike others that you really need to aim those "pogo contacts" on the charging cable). Charging time for us took us for less than an hour. As we were days behind compared to other local tech reviews (as we got the device one week before it's launch), we are happy to share that we got their promise of 12-day battery life.
The only thing that we do not like is the very short time to view those notifications especially when we usually read on long SM alerts and you cannot set it on the app. Yes, you can do heart monitoring but not on real time as you need to pause for a while and to keep that device as tight as possible. Good thing that based on our check, it looks pretty as well as the SpO2 reads that we did.
The details were rich on the realme Life app from sleep monitor, BPM by day/week/month and various health related details. The device will even send you automatic updates if you are already sitting for hours and you need to move a bit. Based from our usage, there are currently less than 20 watch faces to choose from - all for free and we expect that there will be more in days to come. Checking it overall from various Android phones, the device works best obviously on realme phones especially that there's no miss on SMS notifications.
realme Band 2's official price in the Philippines is Php 2490 but there is currently a promo price of Php 1740 on both Lazada and Shopee which is more reasonable SRP compared to another wearable with AMOLED display and real-time heart monitoring from a premium brand for Php 2690. With bigger display and more features compared to the first realme Band, it is worth the upgrade as long as you do not need GPS and does not need real time heart monitoring. I just hope there's an app update for longer screen time on reading notifications. realme Band 2 for us is 4.25 out of 5
