Poco M3 Pro 5G Unboxing, Review

After a few months, it is still one of the most affordable 5G-capable smartphones in the country so we took some attention on Poco M3 Pro 5G for some review

Here is the official retail box looks like:

We will not gonna go elaborate that much on the specs sheet as you can check our previous article here

The 6.5 inch FHD+ display was very good in our view with the right colors and in any angle. By the way, we checked this one on MIUI 12.0.9 and 12.0.10

We love this back design of Poco M3 Pro 5G on this one. Expect for finger smudges so the given protective case inside the box is a must

Coming from Redmi Note 10, we felt that the MIUI for Poco is much lighter in terms of transitions and multi tasking which is a plus for us. If you are already at home at MIUI, you will not be a stranger on this device. We got the 6 GB RAM/128 GB ROM variant, which you will gonna get 119 GB remaining for apps and more

On connectivity just like in the global announcement, a downer for us that Poco chose the hybrid dual sim which means you cannot use your micro SD if you need to bring 2 5G sims. The 5G signal was great in our test 5G areas but for some reason, we got a bit weaker Smart LTE signals in our workstation compared to other phones that I tried. Good thing that we got no problems on Bluetooth, mobile hotspot, WiFi and GPS

For some reason, the device does not allow us to run various benchmarking tools including the regular version of Antutu. Good thing, we got a chance to run Antutu Lite which is kinda low but we know from it's Dimensity 700 SoC, it can go beyond 300,000. Seven out of nine sensors were present on this device and it has Widevine L1 certification

On battery, it was a solid 1 1/2 days for us as a main driver. In our video battery rundown test, it lasted for 34 hours and 20 minutes out of it's 6.5 inch FHD+ display and 5000 mAh battery. Coz we got 33 watt charger out of the box, we can easily fill this device to 100% in over in around 90 minutes.

On cameras, the primary shooter performed very good on daytime and well-lighted environments as well for the selfies with fast image processing and very good color accuracy. Did some night shots and it was good but it was a bit off on low light places in HDR mode

Design, software, good enough cameras, battery, charging time and most in the connectivity department were the strengths of Poco M3 Pro 5G. Price can be a mixed bag as the base model (4 GB/64 GB) is the most affordable 5G phone at Php 8,990 but if 64 GB storage is not enough for you (as you cannot use micro SD if you need two 5G sims) then you will gonna go for 6 GB RAM/128 GB ROM at Php 11,990 which is 2 GB RAM less than in the competition . Cons for us will be their choice of only hybrid dual sim set-up and weak reception on LTE band. I will gonna give Poco M3 Pro 5G at 3.75 out of 5
